Sig Sauer P226 trigger work/SRT (part 2)
Переглядів 35 тис.12 років тому
This is the "after" video. I had Bill Springfield of triggerwork.net install a Sig factory short reset trigger and complete a trigger action job. I am very pleased with the results! The 10 pound double action trigger pull from the factory is down to about 7.5 pounds and the single action trigger pull is down from 4.4 pounds to under 3.5. The reset is extremely short and there is no creep in the...
Sig Sauer P226 trigger work/SRT

This is my Sig Sauer P226 in 9mm. I am demonstrating the factory trigger pull in both double action and single action. This pistol is going out for a trigger action job and the installation of Sig's S
How did he get the double action down to 7 plus pounds.did he replace. Or file it.. same trigger i know they make a trigger that shortens it up but the trigger is flat and with out a safty, its like a stiker fire, like it but dangerous when loaded. Can you tell us what happen
So where is the trigger work?
i bought my P226 in 85 when they first burst on the market. out of all my guns, it and my browning citori are the only ones i never even thought about messing with. cant say the same for my glocks, 1911's or AR's. dont see too many 9mm 226's out there for sale or trade, they are all 40's. sig226 I love you just the way you are
Thank you so much for this video phew! just bought my sig p226 navy and have been shooting it a lot. I have noticed the trigger travel and it troubled me a bit in that I was wondering if the travel was normal. From my research it is and your video helped. In single action the trigger pull seems to go on forever!
@dcsigshootr great video. Just bought an m11a1, which comes with the srt trigger already installed. Do you or anyone know how to reduce the trigger pull of the double action? I would prefer a method I can do myself, for example, changing a couple springs here and there.
Just a question, what brand is this gun?
Sitting here watching this vid, pulling the trigger on my identical P226, early model with the same two piece slide, and identical Hogue grips, hearing the gun make the exact same sounds. Lol! Also contemplating sending my gun in for the exact same service that you did.
Thank you for the referral to Bill Springfield, did a superb job on my AR-15-9mm trigger group, which came heavy and gritty, is now smooth as silk. Fast turnaround, even by mail. Am sending him my P226 for the short reset, and a trigger group from a Remington 870
i have a p250 can i adjust the pull on it? i love the gun the the trigger pull makes it hard to shoot accurately..suggestions are most welcome, thx
Joe mama just sell that thing. You can reduce the trigger pull a bit but you run the risk of light primer strikes. I had one and sold it. If I wanted a DAO pistol I would buy a DAO revolver. Problem with P250 is the trigger pull is too long and you pull the muzzle down as you pull that trigger. It feels very smooth but that does not equate to accuracy. There are people who can stack hits on top of each other with a P250, sell it to one of those guys and buy something that doesn’t take years of patient practice to master. Spend the money on a P226 or P229 and don’t look back. The cost of entry is high but you’ll be glad you did it. Talk to your gun shop, if you’re a regular usually they are cool about lengthening lay always. Make sure you are talking to the owner or manager as the clerks usually have no say in anything and just recite the rules.
Get the P320, it’s basically the same gun just that it’s a striker fired pistol and has a short trigger pull like a Glock. Far more shootable than a P250 and way cheaper than any of the P226 family.
where did you get the work done?
In the beginning of the video you can see it with his finger off and hammer cocked. It looks like a 1/8" the most of uptake from the release of the sear. The factory trigger on my P226-R is about about a 1/8" reset and a 1/8" uptake totaling a 1/2" trigger travel to rest. From the video it looks like it reduces the reset to about 1/16" but same uptake.
thanks.
will this maintain Sig's warranty?
How much? Sig wants $179.oo You buy a gun from these F___s and then they want extra to fix the trigger like it should have been set in the fist place. I will definitely not be recommending these at my club or in my class. (First Sig) Yea I'll hear it from the Sig lovers. (1911 guy)
Wow!
Sorry thinking faster than typing... Sig offers the same trigger work, why Bill and not Sig?
Why didn't have Sig Sauer do the work?
Great video... you need 3 hands though :)
+1 for Bill. Friend got his back the other day had SRT and trigger work done to it and it came up pretty damn sweet. Gonna send mine in soon.
did you change the grip on the gun, it looked like you had a different grip in the 1st video? @jassoe i think for centerfire its ok to dryfire the gun, its not good for rimfire guns, but im not 100% on that
Thanks for the videos. I ordered the SRT parts from Top Gun Supply; Can't wait to get it installed.
Speak up...can't hear you...I can hear the slide slam forward fine.
Post the second vid already!
