The sound of those lovely two strokes singing is what I love about old broadcasts. The newer races they lower the volume of the cars and bikes and I can't stand it.

Pretty special to have had such an event in our home town, but what happened that we don't have it anymore? We used to also hold an annual go kart race at South Beach on the loop road around top deck and the light house in Wollongong. What happened to that also? 😔

Ive lived in Bathurst for 25 years ,the P plate ride when I got my bike licence goes around the mountain.so steep ,brave to race a bike There.

I remember watching how they ran across the track to the bikes for the start, wasn't it the Castrol 6hr at the mountain then?? I seem to remember, but i was but a young man then. I miss this racing.
