This is a memorial tribute to the late Jim Durband, who served as a banker, farmer and mechanic during his life. He and his wife Joan raised five children.

This is the life story of Joan Geneva Vande Kop Durband, who lived from 1928 to 2004. Joan was born in a time of depression, on a farm where horses did the pulling. She eventuall raised five children while earning bachelor's and master's degrees, and along with her children they earned a total of 13 college degrees: 7 master's and six bachelor's.

EXPLORING Canyonlands National Park
