If you own stuff it's inevitably going to break. Being and homeowner and having two teenagers it seems like I have ended up with a second full time job, fixing all the broken crap! Fortunately I inherited my dad's mechanical aptitude and an ability to fix or jury rig just about anything mechanical. I was helping my dad with home projects, in the garage fixing bicycles and motorcycles and building stuff out of wood at the age of 8. Keep in mind I am not a professional, plumber, electrician, machinist, welder, etc. These videos are just a visual description of how I personally repaired a broken item so please only "attempt at your own risk". I do hope that some of these videos will provide ideas and inspire folks to try and fix it before throwing it away and save a few bucks in the long run. Please like and subscribe if you found the videos helpful. Thanks for watching.

2011 Nissan Pathfinder VDC Clock Spring Replacement Part Info

If you own gen 3 Pathfinder with VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) it means you have a steering angle sensor attached to your clock spring. Not all rock springs will work. There are lots of good videos on how to install a clock spring on the gen 3 pathfinder but not all of them address this issue.

Looking for clock spring info for a 2007 xterra
@@Bigislandguy Can't help ya there. Sorry.
@ I got it fixed. It just needed to be reset with a OBD tool.
Thank you!!!
my 09 with VDC has a bad clock spring but the VDC comes on and off
Hey great method! I generally remove the clip on all my pocket knives and was pretty frustrated when I got my ultratech and saw all the screws are proprietary. Thanks for the info man!
You sir!!!!! This helped so much
How much clogged was it? I'm about to try some alternatives to see if they make any difference or not, by using either Bg44k or liqui moly catalytic clean, Were you able to solve the oil consumption issue btw?
@@diytheproway782 Cat was very clogged, almost completely. No, didn't solve oil consumption issues. Feeding it a quart about every 1000 miles.
Thanks!
I am having this issue with my Elantra now.
Wow that's exactly what I did with mine works good for the butt plate too sure beats wood putty
Helped out a lot thanks . Just replaced a piece with a hole. Had to give it more strength than I thought to pull down .
What a piece of garbage this car is . Mine filled up with mold because of the tons of water that leaks into the car from the panoramic roof plastic frame cracking on both sides of the roof because of the disgusting rear suspension design that twists the car's rear end when going over bumps . Your car body has probably twisted and that's why the hatch now scrapes the roof section
can u provide part numbers for both parts
Provided a link in the comments. Threw old one away.
I could not find the original order in my emails but I'm pretty sure the part I ordered was this one. I'm not 100% positive but try it and keep me posted. The pictures seem to be correct but you never know... I assume no responsibility if it's not correct for your vehicle. ucarpart.com/products/2006-2019-nissan-frontier-25560-zl44a-clock-spring-2-wires-small-open-center-25560-9bh3a-25560-9bh4a-25560-9bh0b-generic?_pos=2&_sid=c20f2485e&_ss=r
Appreciate the heads up on the diameter and trying to give some advice. I'm not being lazy or anything but it would save a lot of headaches out there if you just showed what you order on that website you mentioned. A lot misrepresented mod numbers out there.

How is this chair holding up for you?
Ok, had to add more stuffing to the lower back pads. If ivwas to do it again I'd probably not get a rocker.
7mm socket works as well.
I suppose. As the hex opening in a 7mm socket has sharp edges I'm thinking it would ding the glass breaker up a bit. The drill chuck is a perfect fit (at least my Dewalt is) so no marring at all.
You want to sell that?
Nope :)
after a year, have you seen any finish wear on your shotguns?
Didn't shoot last year due to a torn quad tendon. Will keep you posted this year.
Works perfect!!!!!
would have helped a lot if you would put part number for the good one.. i bought a car that had a wrong one fitted with some glued on pieces so the sensor would work for a while.. but i cant find the part number for the one i need.. Could you go through purchase history and find it please?

my mother is having the same issue with the engine burning to much oil and they dealership just told us to replace the CAT but hasnt mentioned it was because the oil is being burned up! We also live in California and need to find a person to do a CAT replacement by any chance is your guy in Northern Cal?
I'm in PA. Bought our elantra used. Must have been originally from CA.
I am going to have to give it a try no point in sending it in for 2/4 weeks for that thank you for that idea 😂
is there anything behind the screw holding it together, or you just screwed it in. Are those special screws? You used the towel to push the spoiler and trunk together?
Jam rag or something soft in gap between edge of roof and spoiler to push down on spoiler while drilling and putting screws in. Drill hoes small enough so screws bite. Nothing special about screws except use short ones, like 3/8" long.
I just bought this chair today I’m 6’1 and 330lbs and have had trouble with breaking other recliners.how is the chair doing for you now since it’s been a couple of years?
Mechanically it's holding up well. Seat cushion is somewhat mashed down on the one side. My teenage son was laying on his stomach on it fully reclined. I think he kneed the inside of the one armrest :)
Which cushion did ya purchase?
I'm your size and just got this Astor. Took the 1" plastic legs off my old recliner , drilled holes in the Astor base and attached them . Got rid of that pressure behind the knees when just sitting and rocking. Thanks for the tip
Nice! How is the stability with just 3 wheels?
It's good.
Part number?
I do not, sorry.
Not a quality product. Mine broke after 18 months. Their warranty requires a $160 visit fee, paid BEFORE they render services. Terrible company.
Nice rig. I just picked up a jogging stroller by the side of the road for free. Will doing something similar. No need to get carried away and too customized. Thanks!
Most soffits in Canada are stabled in. They are a lot harder to remove but a much cleaner finish.
Cool rig! Thanks for sharing!
Bloke nice realmente suave hombre felicidades Como que en El Dia en que LA conoci ist dein Auf Das licht is bucko for a great
How did it go? I just changed the clock spring on my path as cruise control stopped working, I put the old vdc on the new one as it came without it. Everything working good now, cruise control back on. 👌🏼 I'm just wondering how I can check if the vdc is working now. 🤔
Went well. Airbag and VDC light were on. VDC went out after driving. Airbag light, did the 3 ignition cycles (make sure you do the shut offs on the first blink) last cycle it slow blinks, shut off, take key out for 10 sec, put key back in, turn to on, light went out. No more dash lights :)
If the light is off I assumed it was working. Maybe find some snow or mud and if the slip light blinks and you loose power it's working :)
I’d love to buy this from you if you wanted to sell.
Thanks, but not for sale.
My original UTX screws were too short to hold the chassis together properly. So I ordered some torx screw replacement that work but they don't seem to come in bead blast grey tumbled finish like the originals.
No way you still have this knife right?
Yes.
good idea! how does it work? I picked up a stroller today and this looks like what i will do with mine, going to use it for sporting clays and whatever else. you like those racks for holding the firearms so far?.
Works great. Used it about half a dozen times so far. I do like the racks but be careful with them when its folded up and stored because they do kind of stick out. I could see them getting broken off if banged hard enough. Lovely plastic :)
@@everythingisbroken7280 got it! good to know. and thanks for taking the time to reply! I am going to get a set.
I have the same ceiling and tool but the tool is really made for siding so I found the angles are not right and the hook edge is too blunt to slip in between the overlap, so I ground down shorter the hook edge to allow it catch the overlap edge better , I also sharpened the inside of the hook to a putty knife edge..it did work better but it was very hard to break loose. (at the initial unzipping It’s kinda like breaking the bead on a tire) also I think warming with a heat gun will allow the break to be easier as long as you don’t overheat too much and on too narrow a spot because it will just bend without unzipping.. I would feel as I heat to make sure it’s evenly getting warmed for at least a foot on either side….PS I used a heat gun as careful as possible but it’s too hard to judge when you go too far as the material is so thin it distorts once you pull at it ,so unless your doing it to get to room temp I wouldn’t do it..I reheated and tried to reshape, its almost the same but it’s impossible to get it back to factory profile
We are doing a job and the soffit does not go back on so easily. Any tips ?
Not really. Mine popped back into place fairly easily. Mine was newer vinyl soffit like I mentioned in the video.
@@everythingisbroken7280 Figured out a way to do it btw ! Just to update. We heat gunned it to make it more elastic. Not too much to warp it just to worm it up. The following 2 buildings we did went easier and didn’t need to heat. They didn’t leave 1/4 gap that you’re suppose to leave on first building. Thanks tho the vid did help !
@@jeorgeac7831 Good news! Thanks for the update and info.
Thanks. I appears my contractor did a lame job. I will get this tool and fix it

Great mod. How are the cushions holding up for you? I just purchased this Astor as well because of my size. Hopefully, it was a well worth purchase and will hold up over time.
I added some stuffing to the 2 lower zippered cushions. They seemed a bit understuffed. They are holding up ok as far as I can tell.
can you please tell me the length of that screw?i am on metric measurement and can find the right size.or give a link where you bought them. thanks
1/8 inch long, length from under head to end of screw thread.
Did the same thing for my Astor!
Hello, so what size torx screws did you use for the replacement screws? Thanks
Check out my other video on the Microtech Ultratech. Be aware Microtech uses different screws for ultratechs made during different years.
Great idea
Thanks for the heads up. Went to yobokies and they have a "20mm 6105 BoR" bracelet now for us SOXA modders using the Steeldive 6105 as a base.
Cool. Yea hes always updating and hes also very responsive to emails if you have questions. Thanks.
Good thinking. I did it a little different. I just used a bungee cord. Works great and easy on and off
That'll work :)
