It is really tough target. Your idea of 200 DEF, samurai will deal 20% more damage, and 500 then it's 100% more, technically just mean, that you are not experienced enough in NovaRO PvP scene. Because someone in NovaRO PvP scene, who absolutely understand theorycrafting, will understand why I compare Samurai vs Icepick. Because as GX in real world situation, you can swap out your off hand from Icepick (next best in slot) and swap it to 4 slotted knife with Samurai, without having to change other gears. MVP cards in general rarely gives more than 20%. But what about "but not all classes carry 2 weapons" ? Then I can't help much on that scenario, because I don't really play the server you are playing, the class you are playing, but I can guarantee you 100% your way of testing would be faulty for PvP GX build in NovaRO era, when this video was made.

@@BlackIntels Не важно о каком сервере идёт речь, если карта самурая и защита работают стандартно. Проблема вашего видео в том, что вы одели ледокол, и вы является убийцей который носит одновременно 2 оружия , эти два оружия дают много слотов для карт и модификаторов урона, другие персонажи носят одно оружие, и для них карта самурая является очень крутой. Возможно именно для убийцы все как вы говорите, но это не повод делать вывод о карте для всех персонажей. Сделайте тест на другом персонаже , например механик.

@@Shikarno_3000 it matters a lot what server you are playing. If you take mechanic as you said, the only working build on NovaRO at that meta was Arms Cannon in PvP Scene. No Melee Builds are useful, and Arms Cannon already bypass DEF completely. So using Samurai Spector would only lose you damage, because instead of running Samurai Spector, you could just have another Medium% card. Not to say that there are 3 limitation of using MVP Cards in NovaRO WoE. So the use of the card is really specific in this scenario. I get your point, that not every class have two weapon, and not everyone can use Icepick. But then again, everyone who plays GX on NovaRO PvP era at that time would most likely be using it, because GX was also really strong on that meta. If you are talking about 100% PvM then you could be correct, but then again it is irrelevant, because the whole thing is about PvP and not PvM. And this is NovaRO specific usage of MVP Card user, during SBK GX era. So your idea of Samurai gives 100% is true if the PvM player is so bad that he doesn't make DEF penetration build. But then again Samurai is useless on another server like MuhRO for example, where shadow gears give you 100% DEF penetration already, so there is no reason to even wear one. That's why the idea of Samurai gives 100% def is true on paper, but on real world scenario, people are not that bad, that they don't theorycraft on how to bypass the DEF even if it's just like 50% DEF penetration.

blackintels.wordpress.com/2021/01/23/pvp-pvm-reginleif-card-test-result/ yea backtracking to this post from January 2021, I was just like majority of the playerbase + NovaRO admin during that time, everyone didn't know that R.Amda gives Class%, in fact I still didn't know about that till mid 2023, when I joined a guild in MuhRO filled with former NovaRO players, and they told me about Haise found out the bug in NovaRO. so I'm quite sure till I get to hiatus early 2021, the Amdarais and Reginleif still had similar effect providing ATK% instead of Class% as you said. While right now it is quite obvious which one would be stronger than the other 🤣

So this depends on what Ragnarok we talking about right if they use the atk% or class atk%. Reginleif will be better if both uses atk% but if R.amda gives Class then R.amda would be better. @@BlackIntels

@@fortunewilliamledesm9559 Yep, that is the correct assumption, from the rumors I heard so far tho, only NovaRO had this bug, it seems like other private servers don't have this bug, but I'm quite sure that official would have the Class% instead of the buggy ATK% NovaRO used to have.

I play on MuhRO, a france based renewal server Ep. 19 kRO based. 50x/50x/12.5x 0.04% MVP Card Drop Rate It was a small community of 20~50 players, but since the downfall of NovaRO, we've been having 150+ players (Unique players, vendors excluded) The downside is just because it's small community, most of the time you would actually have to play the game, and buying cash to sell to zeny are not really useful, as the gears mostly have to be farmed yourself. There's also quite huge latency if you are living in SEA for example, as SEA is on the other side of the globe. The upside is low latency of less than 50ms here in Germany compared to 120ms+ when I was playing on NovaRO, and the joy of actually playing the game instead of sitting on market page, waiting to flip items to make zeny. Yep they are currently still only on discord. I guess it's still way too early to move towards website etc, I have no clue why they don't have website. That skepticism is completely understandable. Especially classes design, gearing system, and all other aspects of the MMORPG. The monstrous amounts of tasks to do. Despite having really questionable cash shop practices nowadays, the G company did make a good RO back in 2004 ish.
