Hi all,
I have been a reading teacher, a writing teacher, a literature teacher, and am currently a librarian. My students have always told me that they hate poetry, until they hear it read aloud. This is a place where I will be reading poems by some of my favorite poets so you can hear them read aloud.

Can you help me with Latin?
I'm shockingly horrible at Latin. I'm okay with pronunciation.

After 400 years, Herrick is as clear and simple and thoughtful as ever. Thanks for reading so much of him.
I had only read a few of his poems before I decided to record some. I found that I quite liked many of them.
@@aimeereadspoetry Same here. I have read some of his poetry in various anthologies, but had no idea he was so prolific. Also, I didn't know much about Herrick until you began reading so many of his poems and I looked up his most interesting biography.
Really great. You obviously know Latin!

FDR was a Commie and antisemite. He refused to allow Jews fleeing Nazi Germany into America.
FDR was a globalist. So who cares what he said.
Unfortunately, our kids are not getting the education that they need. From public schools all the way up to disgusting colleges like Columbia, Yale, and Harvard. Nothing but indoctrination.
Another FDR remark -- "In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, it was planned that way." A. Ralph Epperson -- "Liberty [rights with responsibilities] is the only thing you cannot have unless you are willing to give it to others."
"Our No. 1 enemy is ignorance. And I believe that is the No. 1 enemy for everyone -- it's not understanding what actually is going on in the world." -- Julian Assange "Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." -- Winston Churchill "Ignorance is bliss. Total awareness is bliss. Anything in-between is the hard part." -- Jeff Berwick "Ignorance does not make you immune, it simply makes you vulnerable." -- Lynette Zang "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." -- Martin Luther King Jr. *"Ours may become the first civilization destroyed, not by the power of our enemies, but by the ignorance of our teachers and the dangerous nonsense they are teaching our children. In an age of artificial intelligence, they are creating artificial stupidity." -- Thomas Sowell*
Life Magazine said "The late Huey P. Long, who knew all the tricks of the dissembling demagogue, was once asked: 'Do you think we will ever have Fascism in America? ' Said the Kingfish: 'Sure, only we'll call it anti-Fascism'". This one has always stuck with me. Nice reading by the way. Take my subscription!
Love it! Can't recall reading this before.
I found it in a book of Aesop's fables that someone gave to my kids when they were little.
