Gay acceptance leads to trans kids and pedophilia. Your lack of exposure argument falls apart as the years progress.
I just found you yesterday and soo enjoyed your conversation with Elaine and just saw your conversation with Ann Maguire. Brought back good memories and how welcoming Boston was. I met you and both women thru Linda Carford. I worked with Linda at Beacon Tours. Met you and Ray thru Linda. Do you have any idea how she is doing or where she may be? I moved from Boston back in 1984 with my husband Michael, who use to work at Chaps. we spent 31 years in NH in the lakes region and now living in Florida for the last 10 years. Memories of boston in the 70s and early 80s were the best of times. At 1 point I lived on Gray st and i remember you both there and I think your brother was living with you at that time. You and Ray were very charming gentlemen. If you have any knowledge of Linda I would love to hear. Best to you both. Roger Loiselle
What a treat to hear from you, Roger. I remember you well. Do you remember the “lunches” in Linda’s apartment. It was a miracle any work got done. Ray and I live in Wilton Manors, FL. Dave Woodford and I have done some publishing projects together. Here is the contact information I have for Linda, who now goes by Woodford. 612-824-7144 and linda.e.woodford@gmail.com. Her partner’s name is Kathy. Ann Maguire passed away a few months ago. Elaine lives in northern Florida on a farm where she and her spouse have llamas. Thank you for reaching out to me, Roger.
@@bmcnaught Thanks so much for the info and your kind reply. I forgot about Linda's lunches but i"ll admit she made the best bloody Mary's! We live in Brooksville Fl about 40 minutes north of Tampa better known for the Mermaids of Weeki Wachee it"ll be 10 years in Dec. Familiar with Wilton Manor have good friends who live at the symphony on Las Olas. We also are fans of Transatlantic Repositioning cruises that usually leave and return Lauderdale. Just did one in April from Fll to Barcelona and in November from Rome to Fll. Being on the ocean for 8 days is a good time for disconnecting from the crazy and it's a great time for Michael and I too reconnect. Also you meet many interesting people because it's not The Party Cruise. If you're okay with sharing your contact info I'd like to reach out to you and Ray when we might be down your way and get together for lunch. we usually stay at The Riverside on Las Olas foe a few nights prior to sailings from Fll. I'd love for you to meet Michael, he's a wonderful husband and its been 41 years. we have a lovely love story. He asked me out to lunch on a weds soo we went to Brighams on Boylston had lunch went back to work and told the person I was working with that I just had lunch with the man i'd spend the rest of my life. On saturday he asked me to go to an antique fair at the cyclorama so we spent the day together and he then had to get ready to go to work at Chap's so I asked him to come over after work. He wasn't going to get out till 3am but that didn't matter. I am a person who has always been in to music so after about 20 minutes after he arrived I told him I was going to play a song for him and said to him this is how I feel. The song was probably about the longest 3-4 minutes of my life, he listened and never left. We knew each other for about 7hours. go onto youtube and pull "If I were you" by Lulu. My email is rloiselle9283@gmail.com and phone 603-630-1519. My best to you both Roger
Great job. You really represented yourself very well and you have proven to have had a generally correct mindset in a time Where there were a lot of bigots that you had to deal with So great job in thanks for helping to advance our society to where we are today
Thank you, Trent. I’m grateful that you took the time to reach out with such a nice affirmation. I heard not too long ago from John Hanson’s transgender granddaughter who said John eventually claimed and affirmed his identity as gay.
Thank you, Ann Maguire!
This interviewer is a bore!
🥰❤💞
This kid was soooo brave. Anita Bryants grand daughter is getting married. Never heard of her so I came to UA-cam. OMG.
Thank you, Leah. I’m not totally sure where my confidence came from, but in my upcoming memoir I credit my family, faith, and maybe DNA. I’m now celebrating 50 years of full time work as an educator on LGBTQ issues. I’ve got gray hair but the fire is still there.
Remember the Bible was written at a time when most of Europe was in the stone age.
I’ve known as friend six Catholic religious Everyone practicing. Celibacy is not even realistic. Sexuality is expression of Love Flush these oddballs down and out.
I agree, Dick. It ought to be optional for those who feel the need for abstinence. Otherwise, celebrate sexuality as a possible wonderful means of expressing love and/or sharing intimacy.
I’ve met many so called ex gays at the local Gay bars all over Minneapolis St Paul. I was born gay .As every Gay man is. Some men are Gay for pay.Not true homosexuals. No sin in sex of sexuality. Part of creation .
That was such a nicely formatted interesting conversation. Thank you. I think the best role models are usually people like Judge Meagher who don’t feel entitled to tell anyone “see me as a role model!” They just do good work.
Stephanie, I agree. Our movement has made such incredible progress because of individuals who came forward and put a face on the issues.
At 40 seconds, if those are lesbians, gosh, you can see how hyper-masculine our culture has become!
Anita thinks she going to heaven because a person is christian 😂! Only day it dknt give you wings darling 👼
to save anyone else doing the maths, he says he is 46 in this video and that he was born in 1966, so this was filmed in 2012
You’re undoubtedly right,, Nicole. I did the series of interviews over a couple of summers when we had a home in Provincetown.
great interview and I really enjoyed meeting the man behind the Athlete's Way which I have read twice@@bmcnaught
I have had the biggest crush on Kate my entire life. Love her to pieces! Miss her absence from her brilliant performance and hope she is taking care of her self following the very sad loss of Urvashi. 💔
I'm surprised there aren't comments regarding this video. The video is very good
I’m surprised too. I don’t know what triggers traffic on UA-cam
I am tempted to feel sorry for the dude who claims that he is no longer gay. But I am impressed by Brian McNaught. This was 44 years ago- in 1979. His honesty, bravery, and integrity are inspiring. As I type this comment, he is still alive and kicking at the age of 75. More power to him!
Thank you,. You’re right. I’m 75 and am working on my memoir. You’ll be glad to know that I heard from John Hanson’s lesbian granddaughter who says John finally found his way back to a satisfying gay life.
@@bmcnaught I'm glad there was a happier life ahead for John Hanson. Thanks for the update
A practicing homosexual. Well, you know what they say: How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice practice practice!
Do whatever you want just please stop calling yourself “gay”. There’s nothing gay about any of them.
I love how your able to articulate to others what so many LGBT people face everyday. Thank you!
Thank you, James. The battle continues. If you;re interested in my writing, go to wwww.Brian-mcnaught.com.
I read _On Being Gay_ years ago and loved it!
"Ex Gay??????"Ex- heterosexual,Ex- white person, ex- black person............on and on.Ludicrous.
Adults believe that they are going to live forever? That there is such a thing as a sin and all of the millions of things that religious gibberish spouts.
The Bible is a Fairy Tale. I threw 3 of them in the garbage when I was 18 and had finished 12 years of Christian schools. Religion is hogwash.
People should not use religion as a weapon. I can't believe that anyone believes in a god. "Christ paid for sins?" I don't even know what a sin is. The religious idiot uses the term "lifestyle" instead of orientation. It shows how uneducated he is. Fornication is fun, it is not a sin.
0:24 "A practicing homosexual"
The power of churches and religion is Biblical ignorance. Once you actually study the word, this power falls away and a real relationship with God will begin.
That’s been true for me, Bradley. One of my biggest achievements in life has been liberating myself from the control of the Vatican.
@@bmcnaught Here in Texas, the Baptist faith is so intertwined with our culture, it permeates every aspect of our lives. It is so bad, there was little sympathy for me when my best friend committed suicide when we were fourteen. He was gay too and the son of a Baptist minister. My zealously religious stepmother had said he was in hell for killing himself. I walked away from God at the age of 20, when a pastor screamed out in a sermon that all gays go to hell. I had to have a stroke to come back to church at all (a stroke that I might add that happened on the anniversary of David's death). Then for reasons that only God knows, He showed me David's grave and told me about his brother and even his name. I actually spoke to him on the phone! He gave me this verse: "...God is not god of the dead, but of the living." (Matthew 22:32) I had never heard this verse before. It started a quest in me to find the truth, and I discovered it wasn't in religion. The truth comes from having a relationship with God, and never trusting religion. God loves me the way I am and never asked me to become something I am not. And David's soul lives, and is waiting for me when I leave this world!
I look at these things and I have to wonder if Anita would have helped that guy who did the shooting in the Pulse nightclub, all in the name of Jesus...
'15:41 when did you first initiate yourself or be initiated into actually having sex as a gay person?' follow up question : 'and it was with another guy?' 🤣🤣🤣
What kind of question is that? Like how does a gay person get “initiated?”
As abhorrent as the garbage views and teachings of “John” are, I feel empathy for him. He is a self denying and self loathing gay man, which makes me incredibly sad. I’m sure that his internalization of such garbage has caused him tremendous unhappiness (and of course, he in turn has caused unhappiness in others). And I say that as just some middle aged white heterosexual guy in case that matters
Thanks, Tommy. You’re right. It always breaks my heart when I see a guy with his wife but his eyes glued on another guy in the restaurant. I never stayed in touch with John, but not long ago heard from his lesbian granddaughter that he finally came out before his death. You’re a perceptive man.
Your patience and grace with these people is absolutely awe inspiring
Thanks, Tommy. It has served me well over the past near 50 years, as I presented to audiences around the world. It helps me to go into these situations with love, forgiveness,, and gratitude.
Being that you are from Atlanta how about doing a portrait of the Atlantan that did so much to bring down Anita Bryant. Of course I'm talking about the famous and well respected pioneer of Queer and Gender Studies, USC professor Walter Lee Williams Jr. Have you ever met him? I have. During his "formative teen aged years " I was the 6yr old that lived next door to him. That's when I first "knew him." It seems that we are all about "building a better America" by teaching children about it's shameful history which is ironic as when I talk to kids in their 20's today most of them can quote me "chapter and verse" about what a "bad" human being she is yet not one of them have ever heard the name Walter Lee Williams Jr. One would think that a man that received the Gandhi, King, Ikeda Award for his "Lifetime of Good Work" from the great Morehouse College (what with their unique ability to "judge whiteness") would have some place in your history books. Or is it best that people like me die in anonymity so others don't have to be embarrassed? Of course if you can't bring yourself to talk about Walter maybe you could interview me? What say big boy, I mean you're not chicken are you? Maybe you could bring one of your Morehouse friends with you to fix my "homophobia" and maybe they can fix my "whiteness" too. You know, kind of like a bonus. (I'm ready when you are)
Bigots all look like low-IQ retards.
this guy sounds gay
You are an abomination to the Lord. Repent or you will be thrown into the bottomless pit.
bottomless pit , does that mean he goes to hell
No he is not! He is a human being that deserves the same love and respect that is given to us straight individuals.
@@Live-life-to-the-fullest I will never respect an abomination!
I am not trying to best disrespectful but have you read the Bible….in its entirety?? The vast majority of sexual sin is on the shoulders of heterosexuals, not gay people. Being gay is not a choice!! Do you really believe that he is abomination for something he didn’t even choose?
Brian is a cultural marxist.
I prefer Groomer Adjacent. Meet his fren. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Lee_Williams
Yes we have a right to discriminate.
You can't discuss rights without responsibility and homosexuals want all the rights without the responsibility of abiding by the moral laws of tne land based on the natural law.
Someone owes Anita Bryant an apology (I'm looking at YOU Morehouse College). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Lee_Williams
Line 4 did not get through.
Society does not drive homosexuals to suicide. One must align oneself with the life stream.
We have to go within. Jesus opened that path up for us.
It's important to know the catholic churches peesoective not because of bias but because the church recognises the natural law.
How refreshing to go back to a time when homosexuality could be discussed openly without being accused of hate speech.
The mistake protestents always make is that they do not mention natural law, which is outside of religion, they always go to the Bible, which is easily contested.
A battle for God's design for man.
Poor Shirley is touched by brian's story. Self love is not sacrificial love. Brian was hurt and blamed like a child rather than take reeponsibility.
If he had kept it quiet he could have stayed in those roles. It was his decision to come out.
It is easier to bleme society than accept that you are degenerate.
And 40 years later John Hanson is proved correct.
And forty years later, Steve, John Hanson has died, but not before he came out and had a partner. Pete, you seem preoccupied with the issues.
A consciontious objector so he did not fight in the Vietnam War? Where is his patriotism. And now he has the gaul and narcissim to social condiiton corporations and their employees with liberal nonsense.
