I am here showing you the detailed procedure of finding out the standard Consistency of the cement by ASTM C-187-16 and as per IS: 4031 (Part-4) The standard consistency of a cement paste is defined as that consistency which will permit the Vicat plunger to penetrate to a point 5 mm to 7 mm from the bottom of the Vicat mould. How does 4# sieve have an opening of 4.75 mm? But 1 inch = 25.4 mm, so 25.4/4 = 6.35.

why are u take 2.8 gm in initial
1 micron = 1 million of a meter. 1 million is 10 lacs, 10,00,000 (6 zeros) so technically In Meters 1 micron = 10-6 meter ( 10 raise to -6) and In MM 1 micron = 10-3 mm (10 raise to -3) Hope I am correct. Thks, OSR9

2.8g is a trial quantity for OPC. It is not accurate .check the plunger and cell gap and compactness. The plunger should touch the cement bed and clearance between plunger and cell should be 0.1mm.
