I wonder if the lack of tech or even "low-tech" techniques can be beneficial especially at early ages? Being an amateur radio operator and a member of the American Radio Relay League, I keep tabs on their STEM efforts. They have a whole Teachers Institute on Wireless Technology where for instance they have teachers build directional antennas. They've been focusing on High Schools but it'd probably be similar earlier on. One aspect of ham radio is all about emergency preparedness... what happens when the technology and/or powergrid goes down? Can kids cope with that? Might not have a screen to look at for awhile!

Honestly considering how underpaid teachers are and how they usually have to pay for their own project/class supplies, I'd say it's a fairly reasonable idea. If you can make use of something that'd just get thrown away anyways, go for it.

That was helpful. I'm the computer lab teacher and at my school all the old kits come to me and i don't know what the differences are between all these boxes. That's good to know. If only they came back to me with no missing pieces.

Oh that would have been great to have had access to a 3D printer in elementary school. There would have been so many little plastic cars, planes, turds, and penises littering the playground. It would be simply amazing to be able to design one's own toys.

Tape easily, if you wrap the tape around on itself it can stick things down like glue + you can peak it off easier if you stuck it wonky

Even if those items are inanimate the adhesive still wears off overtime so how long would they last? Or what's the expiration date of the adhesive?
