Relearning My Archery Shot Process #mathewsarchery #archery
It's been 16 weeks since my shoulder surgery and this was only my second time at the range since then. It's been a tough recovery from this injury, but I am happy I am able to shoot again even if it's just a 45 pound draw weight bow. There is still a lot of weakness on my injured shoulder so shooting is kinda wobbly. I just need to remind myself to let the pin float and do its thing and for me to be determined to stay in my shot process.

Throwback Vid of 120 Yard Bomb at TAC San Antonio 2022
Переглядів 649Рік тому
Just reminiscing TAC with this short 3 minute video. I haven't really post any of the videos I took from last year's Total Archery Challenge in San Antonio, Texas..other than a UA-cam Shorts from several months ago. I will miss this year's TAC here in Texas because of work. Are you going this year? I'm jealous if you are! #TAC #tacsanantonio #mathewsarchery
BlackGold Dovetail Base Installation on Mathews V3X 33

Swapping out the Spot Hogg Hogg Father Triple Stack on Mathews V3X 33 for the BlackGold Pro single pin sight using the new dovetail base (bar). In addition to the sight installation, this video also includes adjusting the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd axis and sighting in at 20 yards to make sure there aren't any issues with the windage on the new dovetail bar. Hopefully this helps some of you decide if th...
85% Let Off versus 80% Let Off - Compound Bow Speed Testing
Переглядів 20 тис.2 роки тому
Is there a speed difference when using a low let off (80%) versus a high let off (85%) compound bow? Watch this video to find out. For this test I used Victory VAP 440-grain arrows and shot them with a Mathews V3 31 bow 70# draw weight, 28-inch draw length. Luckily changing the let off was easy on the Mathews V3 31. It was as simple as changing cam modules that only took about 2 to 3 minutes to...
Learning How to Shoot with a Hinge Release - B3 Archery Ghost
Переглядів 9 тис.2 роки тому
Just a quick video of me getting some coaching for Dacota Taylor at Texas Archery on how to shoot with a hinge release. This was only my second time shooting with a hinge or back tension release. It's a bit intimidating at first, but I'm beginning to like shooting with it. I am using a B3 Archery Ghost release and I like how it works and shoots. It's just a bit hard for me to get used to the li...

Are these the fusion II or the x-II
Thank you
Awesome bows! Recently found a vertix for way too cheap. Great bow. Have you added a couple new ones to the collection?
Iq test...I'm so thrilled
I wonder what the V# 27 would have done if it had limb legs on, too? Would it be as balanced? Just thinking out loud.
Speed is wrong question about the let off. The right question is : How much smaller group I can shoot with 80 % let off ?
Are they straight vanes or helical, i cant tell
3 degreee helical using a LCA Vane Master Pro.

Thanks for the video!
It measures out of the drawing board like that because of your d loop
These are the best overall arrow in the market, hands down!
Roman great video. Saw that Raymond is now over at Outlaw Archery in the Woodlands. I typically have Raymond or Richard work on my bows. But here’s a question for you. I’m looking to get new cables and string for my V3x33. How have the Twisted X been a year in? And I’m also a 28” draw length, and was wonder if the switch mod u set up your bow with is the 27.5” and how’s that been going down .5”?
That bow movement looked like his pin went in every cardinal direction
What’s that Broadhead your running
Day Six Broadheads
Same 👌
Good comparison videos. Waiting for the next one.
I jist bought the 75% mods for my halon 32. No more sloppy back wall
You can hold a lot longer a much more likely sloppy shot. High let off equates to more sloppiness on the back wall. And in the moment of truth, that can cause you a bad shot on an animal. The sloppiness of high let off is easy to manage when you are calm and shooting at a target
I tested this with my setup a few years ago. I got 2-3 fps difference. The higher letoff is definitely easier to hold and to shoot more accurately. With that being the case, of course, I went with the 85% letoff. If Mathews made a higher one for my bow, I would shoot it.
What you said is true, but with a higher letoff mod, you have to constantly be cognizant of finding a balance between being relaxed and having enough tension. Otherwise, you execute a bad shot...at least that is what happens to me when I go on "autopilot".
How long is the wrap?
4 inches
Love my Vertix. Thx for the video 🤙🏼
A higher holding weight should equate to greater area under the curve and greater power which should produce more speed all things being equal, Just being able to hold at full draw longer does not necessarily mean you will be able to shoot a good shot, some of the factors degrade with hold time regardless of holding weight
I your opinion, which one was better for target shooting? Thanks for the videos.
The V3X33 with longer axle to axle is better for target shooting. It's a more stable platform.
My dad shot one into a wall and the arrow was perfect but the wall was not lol
What components are you running? They look great
Just the stock inserts, stock nocks, but using TAC arrow wraps and Q2i Fusion II vanes.
I take black gold truss bar donations 😂
Nice
Traverse draw cycle is smoother because it doesn’t have switchweight mod!!!
Wow. I’ve head wonderful things above Joel’s shot in. I’d love to work with Joel. His son Body is awesome.
Joel is a wonderful teacher. He really explains his process and if you follow his instructions and advice, you'll see the difference on day 1.
Hey Roman do you have the other black gold dove tail? I was thinking of changing my standard black gold mounting bracket.
I had sold it less than 3 weeks ago. Sorry my friend.
Good arrows 💯🔥
Shoot them for targets, great arrows
What chrono is that you were using? Great video...thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching. It's the shop chrono. Not sure what the brand it. I wish they had a Lab Radar chrono...
I got the the v3x 29 in granite wt red and black custom strings .hamskea epsilon rest made for mathews. Spot Hogg fast Eddie xl double pin sight in the bridge lock. Conquest control freak pro stabilizers wt the smacwrap tech a 10 inch up front and a lower back bar wt a 8 Inch. The bow balance is great. The bow is fast. Quite and dead in the hand.nice review
I have the V3 31. So very pleased with this bow. Best in my forty years of archery. 👍👍
Thanks. I enjoyed seeing how the 33 balanced with no stabilizers
This video was very helpful. I have the same bow, same weight and length. I expected a bigger difference between the two than 3 fps!! Thanks
You're welcome. There really isn't much speed advantage switching from 85% to 80% let off. However, I find it easier to hold my bow steady with an 80% let off.
@@romanracela I imagine that to be very true. I'm going to get both mods and see which one works for me. Probably going to go with the 80% just because I do a lot of target shooting. I need a more solid back wall. I'm also probably thinking about it too much while at full draw. Lol
I thought it was lower the percentage the longer you can hold and has a deeper valley. With 85 and my v3x feels like it's trying fire me out of the bow. My bowtech didn't feel this way. Had a huge valley.
It's the opposite. The lower percentage will give you a heavier holding weight. If you use the 80% on the V3X, it will feel even more jumpy than the 85%.
The 27 is the fastest of all of them. The 27 has less vibration of all of them. It has a shorter Ata and riser. Lol specs alone tells a person in common sense.
So I should keep my V3 27?? 😎
Such nonsense with made up vibrations claims.
This was awesome to see. I'm about to get a V3X at Live Oak Archery. I'm sure every tech has their own way of doing things but I think some of those things just should be the standard. Very clean and detailed, thanks.
Thanks for watching. Glad I could be of help.
Why the long stupid techno song? Got to be worst compassion I've listened to. I had to stop working to turn the channel.
Because I like the long ass stupid techno song.

What brand release are you using
Most of the time (line in this video) I use a Carter Wise Choice thumb release. From time to time I shoot with the Scott Ascent back tension release and Carter Mini Evolution resistance release.
Ok thanks
What is the weight of your arrows? Would you mind sharing your arrow build?
Thanks for watching. My arrows are 440 grains total weight. - Victory VAP TKO Elite, 350 Spine, cut to 26.75" carbon to carbon. - 50 grain Victory SHOK TL insert/outsert - 125 grain points - TAC Driver 2.75 Vanes - TAC arrow wraps - AAE IP-4 nocks I hope that helps.

Only because I learn from you, bro! 👊🏽
Are u getting any rattle out of that quiver mine seems to be
It does start rattling when the screw on the screw on the QR levels comes loose. I got rid of the Tight Spot quiver and replaced it with a Matthews Low-Pro quiver. Nothing comes loose on this new quiver.
Diference between MX and IMX and any better than Hamskea Trinity Hunter Pro?
I’m not sure if QAD has an MX model, but they do have the MXT. The basic difference between the MXT and the IMX is the flush integration of the IMX on the risers of the Traverse and Vertix models and newer Mathews models. They both still have the micro adjustment clicks for the windage and elevation of the launcher. I haven’t had any problems with the QAD IMX. They’re durable, quiet, consistent, and I like the arrow containment on the QAD 100X better than the Hamskea. Although the Hamskea Trinity Hunter Pro is loud when shooting your bow, it is overbuilt like a tank and will survive more abuse than the QAD IMX. The arrow containment on the Hamskea is pretty horrible and your arrow just rattles around on the launcher. Another difference between the QAD and Hamskea is the former uses a cable driven system while the latter uses a limb driven system. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
@@romanracela Ok thx bud!I asked cuz i already have Trinity Hunter Pro and have some issues cuz dosent fit so nicelly
Bummer man! Good luck next time!
I do need a "pig light" for when it gets dark. 4 pigs came back when it got dark, but the light sensor under the feeder didn't pick them up. If I had a pig light, I would have come home with a full freezer! LOL. Live and learn I suppose. :)
He got your sent …. You can see towards the end he picks up your sent he props up and half a second layer he runs …. He got your sent !!
I used scent blocker spray and unscented laundry detergent, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the pig did pick up my scent.
