great content!👹
thank you
You have a quality content I can say that
cute, funny, smart girl
Carnegie Mellon is a disgusting university. You’re supporting calls for death against world leaders. Completely absurd. CMU is seriously tarnished.
I'm also looking for CMU for ms in AI can you guide me for it and which intake should I look for?
I have never applied for a masters, so I'm afraid I can't be of much help :( I believe that it mostly comes down to grades + research experience, and then they look at your essays to determine if you are passionate about it and someone the professors would like to work with.
-I need to take outfit advice from programming languages... *noted*
Wow, Hello my friend.. All the best to your channel and hope you have a wonderful day !!!
DO YOU GET NOTICED IN UNITED STATES ABOUT COVID-19?

i WOLD TO LIKE TO BE A GREAT SOFTWARE ENGENIER BUT I AM DEAD
Hi, I got into carnegie mellon as a transfer for sophomore year and I have mixed feelings I'm scared the classes will be overwhelmingly difficult, and I'm having a bad case of imposter syndrome!
The classes certainly are challenging, but remember that everyone feels that way. We have many, many free resources put in place to help students, and core cs courses have some of the most amazing TAs. Plus professors are super eager to talk to anyone who is struggling. As long as you make a group of friends to do h.w together with (almost everyone naturally does) everything will be fine. Also a majority of incoming freshmen each year also get imposter syndrome, so everyone understands! If you want more details feel free to message me on discord :)
So you’ve walked past my dorm Fifth and Clyde like 150 times lol
An outstanding CS program yet now tainted by discriminatory mandates. How unfortunate.
CMU computer science was my dream school, I visited CMU and loved it so much, and with 17% acceptance rate I thought I had a chance Then I looked at the fact that the school of computer science has a 3% acceptance rate and is legit as selective as Harvard lol
3% seems a bit tooo low, I think it's somewhere around 5% but yeah acceptance for SCS is pretty low. Just a shame that none of these schools can admit all the amazing students who deserve to go there :(
apply to SCS in qatar campus you have a higher chance of admittance

buddy i think cmu has uni ranking of 52 or smthing
@@shifashaikh1712 I believe its ranked top 2 in CS All good now, I'm going to a top 5 program in the country for ECE so I'm happy where I am!
the intro is me, except each attempt is in 30 minutes intervals between 9am-12pm
Bro I know I'm only in 6th grade but I've been to CMU with my dad for take your kid to work day, and I already know this is one of the colleges I want to get into if not the only one😊 I want to major in robotics.
Wow you are way ahead of me when I was in 6th grade, I don't think I ever visited college campuses until at least high school 😅. I'm sure that if you keep working hard like I know you do CMU and other universities will be dying to accept you!
@@becommingher thank you so much!!
Thanks! This is extremely useful for someone who is so passionate about cs and desperately dreams of going to cmu.
Keep working towards it and I'm sure you can!

u were my tour guide 😮
haha hope I didn't bore you
Guy at 2:18 hella cute what's his @?
Hey guys, i am 18 years old and im in highschool learning html/css and learning c# with a little java. Im also going "computer and network technology" class like servers, ip, LAN, WAN, Switch and MAC adress and more. But im not sure what path to pursue, either i go programing, web development or (computer and network technology) i like them all the same but not sure what pay, how hard they each are to persue, what is easier aka takes less work and more. English is not my first langue so sorry if its bad 🙂
That's a really good start! There's more areas to CS than just web development and networks though. I would say that you should take the chance to explore other things. 'Programming' is not really an area of CS, it's simply the basic tools that Software Engineers use. If you have the chance to check out other areas like systems (think OS, databases, compilers) or AI/ML, or security, or even things that incorporate hardware like robotics. These are all examples I've taken from the various departments at CMU school of CS just to show that there are many ways you can go if you want to persue Computer Science. I would search around and check out what those fields do before making a decision as to what path to persue. The pay and work for each is dependent on the company you work for and for many of those how hard a job is depends on the specific team you are on. In general AI is a pretty hot topic but you need a higher (masters/phd) in it to really do interesting work. Other areas are usually fine with just a bachelor's.
Great video
Saw a few folks I know in your video! Also found it cool that we live in the same apartment building off-campus which is absolutely full of CMU upperclassmen.
Yup! This building is definitely basically CMU housing 😂
This was really cool! I"m an incoming graduate student for the LCS program and won't have a chance to walk around campus for months! Do you have any plans to cover the rest of the campus that isn't CS or psych related?
I'm not sure yet, I probably got about half the campus buildings. We aren't a very large school though
Do a how you got into CMU video, please!
Nice video! Seems like you make good use of your time!
Learned a lot. Thanks. By the way, are you in 4th year, senior, or 2nd year? The courses you are taking now seem like 2nd year courses, 210 and 213. Please advise.
I am a 4th year, however my schedule this semester is pretty light and I thought it wouldn't be very representative of the experience, so I showed what my 2nd year spring semester schedule was instead.
@@becommingher thanks
Great video overall, but a day at CMU is incomplete without some despairing debugging
true, true T_T
Should people in the top 5 schools give advice when they can get interviews while doing a lot less crap on their resume/linkedIn, seems out of touch
Nice! How do oyu feel about the psychopathology course? Thinking of taking it soon :)
I thought it was pretty interesting, especially if you want to know more about things like mental illnesses or psychiatry. The professor is super well versed in everything they teach.
Very cool! I hope I get into CMU :)
Thank you, this was super helpful and relatable!
Thank you so much for such detailed advice. Your videos are amazing!
Thank you for commenting! Nice to know I'm being useful haha 😆
Personal project idea video please!!! Also your videos are amazing
I'm from reddit, loved the post
Thanks for taking a chance and watching!
When should you start leetcode to master OAs and interviews? Is freshman year too late?
To leetcode you need to know data structures and algorithms (DS & A). If you've taken it already then definitely leetcode. Otherwise it's a bit hard to teach yourself, usually it's the class after intro to programming in universities. Definitely not to late to do it freshman year, most people who come in with no CS knowledge will take DS & A in freshman spring and leetcode through the summer/really get into it sophomore fall.
This video is very well outlined and as a rising sophomore, I think I can apply a lot of this advise. (Hopefully, it works out😅) It is rare to find find youtube videos in tech which are as value packed as this one is. Thanks a lot!
What are some good personal projects for C/C++/C#?
Check out this list? github.com/rby90/Project-Based-Tutorials-in-C You can kind of do slightly different things with the three but backend projects if you haven't don't too many of those already. You can also try out making a game or two, or venture into VR - if that's interesting to you.
Hey! I applied to a new grad role 1-2 days after it opened for PM at Microsoft with a referral! do you have a good method of finding the recruiter for my specific region?? I don't really want to message random recruiters lol. Great video by the way!
Sadly I don't think there's any specific website that will list things like recruiter's emails for each region, I would say if there are any recent alums also doing PM at Microsoft you can maybe ask them if they know the recruiter they talked to and then you could probably find them on LinkedIn after that. Generally the recruiter for your region are the ones who show up to the career fairs at your university so if you ever attended career fairs and talked to Microsoft or know friends who have they might have received an email from the recruiter. Other than that I can't say I have any more ideas (close to career fair times if your university uses Handshake you can see the emails of those companies attending), but I'm sure with a referral you will probably hear back fairly soon. Good luck!
Thank you for great tips for resume!! Really really useful to go have good resume for internship of any companies🦊💙
Very helpful information! Should one start attending career fairs in their freshman or sophomore years? Does research experience with a professor help?
I'm glad you found it helpful! Yeah definitely go to career fairs just to gain experience on how to talk to recruiters, but note that generally not much comes out of it for the large companies, but for smaller companies you might get an interview. When you get to Junior year though you might score interviews from any company. Research is really good for your resume, it's ranked more on the level of internship, so definitely put it on your resume and talk about it.
that is me who is struggling with debugging right now lol
hey, im from that reddit post and you linked your video. thanks so much for helping me.
Always here to help!
thank you for your gentle and nice guiding for people who wanna buy new laptop 😝
