Dowdales School Fields Flood Prevention Measures Dalton in Furness
Drone coverage this morning (Dinner Time) showing the temp flood prevention measures carried out over the weekend at Dowdales School side field that is adjoining Peter Dowdales field behind Dalton Leisure Centre It looks like a channel has been created on the Peter Dowdales field side of the school fence and this may account for the river that formed on Friday running through the fence by the bus turning point and down in to the Clinic Car Park?
30mph winds today and even the heavier drone had a bit of a wobble in the gusts. 🌬
Noticed a few trees have been chopped down in Peter Dowdales field and some clearing work undertaken towards the back of the Dalton Leisure Centre. Greenpeace will probably throw a wobbly about that.🫣

Took the drone (DJI 4Pro, ND4 Filter) down the Haggs walk to do battle with branches and fight the drone's sensors along the ancient footpath. Getting to grips with the control box and new drone in tight spots, was harder than it looked and almost killed the drone.

I remember it flooding 30 odd yrs ago when at Dowdales , it was like a river and we still had to do PE in it , half the school would be off with some kind of trauma related stress issue now 🤦♂️

@@davetaylor2378 it is possible i can take you to the church on 1 of the practice nights on tuesday 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm and you can watch us all ring the bells and you can go in the belfry and see all of the bells and if you like they might let you have a go at ringing 1 and if you like it a lot then we can bring you to the practice at st james barrow in Furness and you can learn how to ring and become a bell ringer
