Versa Lok Wall Build
Переглядів 880Місяць тому
I wasn't going to post this because, well, a lot of the video is missing. Apparently the gopro batteries don't last very long. Guess I'll be buying a few more batteries so it can actually record a full day timelapse. I'll get the hang of this thing eventually!

Cutting down a slope using the Kubota KX057-5 with Engcon
Переглядів 3,6 тис.Місяць тому
We'll be replacing the driveway as part of this project. Originally the homeowners wanted a wall here but we were able to save them a bunch of money by talking them into just cutting the slope down some so it's easier to mow.

I don't usually keep the Engcon on when doing stuff like this but I was in a hurry and didn't feel like dealing with the hydraulic lines. Enjoy.
Husky HVLP spray gun
Переглядів 1182 місяці тому
Recently purchased a Husky HVLP spray gun for some projects I'm working on and wanted the nicer finish a spray gives versus brushing/rolling. Never used one before this. It says all over the manual not to use with latex paint, but I thinned it down some and this sprayer has handled it with zero issues. Very pleased with it so far.

Just pull the material up infront of the blade and scoop it up.

I think your the only person i have seen using the Engcon digging bucket. I just mostly use the Grading bucket for almost everything and I I have a custom toothless trenching bucket for narrow work. Is that the 206b with QS40 on the bottom?

I like using the digging bucket for digging virgin material or tearing stuff out, I find the teeth helpful. Ya you got it, but I don't have the new model with EC Oil. They came out with that right after I bought mine

The rotating coupler is almost worth the price.......... Very handy!

It's extremely handy. Very expensive but man I don't even take my skid loader to most jobs anymore unless it's in the back of someone's house and I can't get my truck in to load it. I honestly don't know how I ran my KX040-4 for 5 years without one, but I never had one before so I didn't know what I was missing! Makes an excavator so much more productive.

Ive been an operator for 26 years. Local 18, Cleveland Ohio. This is not at all how i would have dug out for this wall, but thats ok. I am thinking that you are relatively new to excavating? Stick with it bro...its a cool biz to be it. I have worked in 13 States, in every machine imaginable, on every type of project imaginable. And the 57 is a nice mini...got NO USE for that rotator tho! But im old school...

I've been running mini excavators and skid loaders for about 10 years roughly. Just got the tilt rotator last year. Honestly, I'll never own another excavator without one. For just straight excavating or site work, it's not necessary at all. But for what I do, which is strictly residential work, it's invaluable.

Use the tiltrotator more, use the big bucket to cut a nice edge, then use the cabelbucket to clean....

No...leave that stupid tilt/rotator garbage back at the shop... Completely unnecessary when digging. It has its place on SOME grading applications...but not here.

Thank you. This was the first time I ever used a GoPro, I'll have to play around where to mount it to give a better view. Music is tough because it seems UA-cam will flag it for copyright a lot of times but I'll look into it. Thanks for the feedback!

@@mcpiddler1135 a majority of the stuff I'll post are either timelapses or sped up real time videos, so you wouldn't hear the machine. Maybe I'll do a few short videos that aren't sped up. Thanks for the compliment and suggestion!

They wanted one, but they only wanted to go about 12-18" tall. I think walls like that look stupid. Why spend the money on a wall and still have a slope above it to maintain? I talked them out of it. If they had it in the budget to do a 3-4' tall wall I would've been all in.
