The tutorial about modding the keyboard, not showing how to pull the PCB plate out of the case is not very useful, because in Akko 3068 keyboards, this is actually pretty hard to do.
This video wasn't really intended to be a tutorial. Mostly just to show what had been done to the keyboard so the friends/streamers i build them for can see and show it on stream. However, if i remember correctly, to remove the PCB out, all that was needed was to remove the screws and to use something like a guitar pick to pry off the plastic top housing.
lol since when did it say it was a tutorial? did i miss something? Like its just a video saying what he moded to get it to sound the way it does
Bro why u quit your channel? Keep it up
do they have a screw in stabiliser option?
Hey i've read that using a tape mod on a keyboard with a battery is a fire hazard - but only after I've already done it. Have you been using this regularly? Has it caught fire or is it ok?
Yes, and no. It can be a fire hazard if you use alot of tape to where it puts pressure on the battery. Same goes with foam modding. I try to ease the amount around the battery as much as possible. Allowing the heat coming from the battery to properly dissipate.
can you only use akko made keycaps on akko keyboards? the 3068b has this weird keyset 1u for Alt, FN, Ctrl, 1,75u Shift
no, you can find keycaps pretty easily as long as you keep in mind the different sizes of things. for example a keycap set can have multiple sizes of shift keys to fit that layout. you may be lucky and they supply all of them to you, or you can select the set that has the sizes you need
was the lube krytox 205go?
It sounds the same but wetter lol
What’s the actuation distance? Is it 0.4mm?
Actuation Force: 45gf ± 5gf Total Travel: 4.0 ± 0.3mm Pre-Travel: 1.9 ± 0.3mm
whats the type of tape you're using?
It's just painters tape/masking tape
@@ItsRaymar thanks folk!
So what does the tape mod do and did you only live the switches and tape mod to make it sound like that
Tape mod helps with how the sound resonates in the case. I lubed the switches and stabs. And I also added foam to the case.
@@ItsRaymar ok thanks
You should try the tom980. It is another 98% keyboard but South facing.
Great recommendation! I'll have to take a look at that one for any future builds for anyone looking for this form factor! Great price too!
can i have it
no
@@ItsRaymar 🤣🤣🤣
keyboard itself is actually very solid, a very decent one to buy and absolutely worth the price for newbie mechanical keyboard player
what are all the mods that u did? rlly wished u had told some details about em
I am new to these keyboard stuff and I was wondering how do I make this keyboard rly rly loud and clicky
did you use different the stabilazers?
Nope, they're the same stabs. Just tuned, lubed and holee modded
@@ItsRaymar wow that was such a great job. thank for answering! <3
Why do those green keycaps sit so high on the switches?
who likes this video? .... akko! AHAHAHAH
Great video just wished you showed the whole process of modding.
Did you switch the switches or was it the switches that came in stock and u lubed it?
Stock switches. Just lubed
I have lubed lavender purples in my fantech maxfit61 and it's similar sounding, the purple tactiles are superlight once you click though thr bump, and they are a cheat code to good sounds <3
agreed! honestly my favorite switch from akko are the Jelly Blacks. (If you like linears) i used them in another video with the NextTime 75
@@ItsRaymar I've got blacks and silvers on the way, you fing blacks woth lubing? I'll have to watch your other video too, I loved this one
Sounds great! but i prefer the stock keycaps a lot better ! the pink and green dont go along too well!
Any ideas on how to remove the “Akko” decal on the front side of the keyboard without ruining the black paint? I want to remove it for a cleaner overall look
Really great editing! Love the honesty through the process. I'm curious how she likes the keyboard so far. I'm looking at getting the Akko 3068b with purple jelly switches since I think I might like tactile, then maybe doing the black jelly switches later. 🤔 and add foam...maybe... I'm still scared so it's a maybe add foam. 😆
Wow. That was a huge difference! 😳 😆 Now I wish I could have seen the details of the mod so I can follow along and do it too 😁 Great result!
Ahah sorry for not really showing it. I felt that so many other UA-camrs go through the steps I take. But I will try to include more of that in future builds!
@@ItsRaymar Oh, no. There's always advice you can add from your experience that no one else mentioned or a viewing angle on camera or anything a little different to help total beginners like me. It's relaxing to watch the process, as long as it is edited well.
@@ItsRaymar also, Amazon Affiliate links or any links are super helpful with learning what supplies are being used to achieve the result. Helps us get the full picture.
It’s the lube and the masking tape that he added to the back of the PCB.
@@ItsRaymar Did you do anything else besides lubing and tempest mod? Like did you change out the foam that came with the board, or added more foam?
Wow that thock of your keyboard after your mods, it's like night and day. Really nice!
why was this so entertaining xD
What mods did you do tho
Just lubed the switches and stabs. foamed the case. and tape mod.
@@ItsRaymar hey bro i have 3068b to but case not closin after foam theres no gap with case and plate, whats tickness ur foam
@@bonus2535 it's about 2mm thick. Pretty thin but dense foam. I also cut the foam so it would pretty much only fill in that extra tiny gap
@@ItsRaymar okay bro thank you.
@@ItsRaymar where did u get it?
Did you need to flash the PCB yourself for VIA
Yes, It took me a couple tries for this keyboard in particular. But I eventually got it working as it should!
bought one of these recently, it gonna be my first board kit
Goodluck! It's a nice keyboard kit.
Underrated
Amazing!!
Sick video brother! it looks great, nice editing as well :>
