Kingfisher video of 2014 highlights

The resident male with his 2014 offspring. Email me if you, or perhaps a friend, would like a day photographing these wonderful little creatures. bookings@photographingkingfishers.co.uk
Just got one for birthday, no instructions included… was getting a bit angry with it until I watched you vid… my wife thanks you…. Always enjoy your railway videos 😊
Thanks Tim, folding that one is a real challenge.
@@charliebishop4967 you must be an expert on all things pop up by now..
Brilliant now I’ve got it 🤔 not sure about my weapon out of the little hole that would really scare the wildlife 😂🤣😂
The best instruction video for these pop ups. I watched several and this one helped so much! Thank you!
You most welcome Maria. Regards Charlie
Yeah looking for a really good camcorder for my church UA-cam channel and wanted to upgrade to 4k as I do the pan and zoom in my editing software and it does degrade quite a bit at 1080p even using a Canon 7d mk2 Plus, I was fed up with the standard 29-minute recording time. It's really nice to find a UA-cam'er from Dorset as I have a good friend from around your way to who has a well established channel, "Delboys garage." I miss it down there as I live in West Yorkshire but was born in Taunton Somerset. Ps looking for a prosumer camcorder as I used to be in the pop video industry back in the early 80s using umatic tape.
Legend
A "blind" if you prefer
Thankyou for both of your channels. My newish you tube channel is 'a model train railway set' suffered from poor filming etc and is much improved thanks to your advice and watching your trains channels.
I’m so glad someone had the idea of making a video of this. Lifesaver (of the hide) top man thank you
Perfect demo. Probably the most succinct video I've watched doing this. Thanks bud 😉
I owe you! Half an hour of wrestling with it before watching your video, I was close to putting it in the bin! 😂
Thanks for this , very helpful now able to pack away
thank you for review but did you notice a cracking sound when you pluged an external mic?
Legend. Sweated right through trying myself before watching your video. Thank you ☺️
Hi Charlie, My again have you tried the Gimbel attachment for a camera ...John
Hi Charlie, I was just thinking about UA-cam channels for a future project so when I get my shed finished and layout up and running I can start looking about my own channel, I have a Nikon D3200 which I got about 6 years ago ago as you say Nikon are not good at focus so will have to see, but your video has given me some food for thought ... Regards John
Go pro kill it in terms of stabilization.
I laughed so much watching this!! thank you. I have a smaller hide than yours but will persevere.
Thank you for your clear and informative review. After considering a number of options, I decided on the FDR-AX33. Even though its dated by a few years now, its still available to buy new. As I live in Spain I paid 500€ for mine - with a free 3 year, anything happens warranty. I note that the longer life, larger battery is now included too. At just a franction over half the price of the new models it ticked all the boxes for what I need it for. Couple of comments. At default the camera is set only to the "standard" option for the shake reduction (Steadyshot) and I think gives only 10x Zoom. To engage the extra stabilization and the 15x Clear Image you will find the setting in menu-Camera/Mic-Steadyshot and change to "Active". The other comment just adds a little more to the SD Card point - Make sure it is a "U3" version. One can be easily fooled by just the SDXC reference, as I was a few years ago when I bought my GoPro. The standard SDXC cards cannot receive the information quick enough when the 4K data is sent. The good news is that most good manufacturers produce the U3 spec quite cheaply now (I paid only about 17€ for my 64Gb Sandisk 150m/s one - works fine. Keep up your good work! BTW - Railway connection here - I am presently at the point of completion of my Railway book - "The Sheffield and Rotherham Railway - The Early Years"
I would have liked to watched some of the videoes, you are refering to. It would help me to understand your points.
There are other possibilities: ua-cam.com/video/5zLmn79HRyQ/v-deo.html the coulor is of couse not the right one for your purpose.
😁👋👍🇬🇧
Hello good afternoon. Congratulations on your tutorials. I wanted to ask you for a little help on the sony fdr-ax33 camera. Question: Can I connect it to my PC and turn it into a webcam for a live Facebook? I'm not very practical and I wanted to get help as I can't find anything about it. Thank you in advance and sincere congratulations indeed.
Thanks Charlie. I've finally managed to get my hide back in it's bag!!!! After several weeks of looking at it standing tall in my spare bedroom!
you are just David Attenborough 2
Hi Charlie. Just checking out your Charlie Bishop channel and there’s some nice content. Love the Kingfisher. The River Wear runs past the bottom of my garden so we have plenty here. I’m a Canon man and my cameras of choice are the 60D next one down from your 80D. The rotating viewfinder is brilliant. My others are 5DSR and 5D Mark IV. Great bits of kit, but my camera for my UA-cam hiking channel is the GoPro 7 Black. Light and easy and I can film in 4K if I want to. The only problem with Mikes Hikes is that it’s weather dependent. Having said that I’m off out on Friday into the hills in the snow. Hoping to get some decent drone shots as I haven’t used it on my channel yet. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your vids. Cheers.
Real purpose - so I remember ... 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks
Great video, certainly learned a lot from it, thank you!
This camera does look very good and presented well and of course, I really liked the demonstration shots in difficult lighting. and here is the but. Charlie is there such a thing as a video camera that does not have anything to do with 'auto' on it? I would like a video camera that is totally manual rather like a film camera in operation. It's own Iris control, manual focus, manual zoom with decent optics and a viewfinder and a display screen would be ok, oh and of course a microphone socket with a manual level set and no to an ALC system? You've probably guessed that I'm predominantly a 35mm stills guy who in the early days of the 1980s heady video days, had a manual video camera with a separate VHS bulky recorder and shot dozens of weddings and other memorabilia events like steam trains. I find anything with auto on it is a pain, an anathema and of course, a fluid head tripod is useful for good pan/tilt shots.
I would like a recommendation / review of best value for money "fluid head" tripods - any ideas welcome. Also a motor for tripod head, if possible.
I've just got the Canon 250D I think it's a bit of a bargain. digik 8 clean hdmi out and the fantastic eye follow focus and at £500 with kit lens it's been great value. Very light in the hand and it's almost as good as my 5D III at stills. Just shows you don't have to spend a fortune for a decent bit of kit.
Thanks again, Charlie for another brilliantly informative video. I'm just starting with UA-cam and have put a few music videos together which have only appeared on Facebook upto now. Your tutorials are extremely helpful for my future offerings. Very best regards Keith
Very informative, Charlie. Thank you for these valuable insights. Great presentation. So clear, concise and helpful. Best regards, Keith
Thanks Charlie for these helpful advice! We will follow them and look for a camera. My wife will do the filming so I can concentrate on being the man in front.
Looking forward to this series and how you cope with the video production.😀
I think the big problem with on camera mics indoors is the room echo. Outside you get a lot of ambient noise which may or may not be good. The main thing is that for good audio you need the mic near the speaker and that applies to shotgun mics, much to my suprise. So many UA-cam channels are spoilt by poor audio. BobUK.
Thanks Bob interesting points.
Nice review Charlie!! Thanks! Cheers Onno.
Thanks Onno, you're a star.
Lots of good info I'll never get at Walmart. A lot like my 15 year old Sony, . I missed the recording medium. All on the SD card? Thanks.
Hi Austin, yes a fast SD card to cope with the 4K.
Great video Charlie looks a good camcorder for he money think I will be ordering one not to worried about 4k more interested in the mic socket as have been trying to make videos by recording the audio using a zoom1 and trying to match it in software.
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it Neil. I must confess that I really like it too.
Hi Charlie Do not know a lot about cameras but learning a lot now ( videos )
Thanks Andrew, you’re too kind.

Sorry, good point, I’ll amend it.
S'all good. Have a day!
Hi Charlie .I have been interested in photography for many years .I spend a lot of time in the Lake District and am looking for a good digital camera with wide angle lens and telephoto lens for landscape and wildliife pictures .Can you recommend a camera for my budget of around £400 . I have in the past used Canon cameras.
Hi David, I’m afraid that I can’t. It’s a mine field of choice. Just make sure that you price the lenses as well as the camera body. Regards Charlie
