We are going in February and my husband is a keen fisherman. Can you point us to where you are fishing off please?
@@leahleathead8178 yes its off the point to the left of the isle of whithorn...kinda off to the keft of the white lighthouse type thing...its an awful scramble over dodgy rocks though plus february is a very poor time of year for fishing...may to october is best.. thabks for commenting
What part of scotland are you fishing here buddy
@@craigdrever7141 its a small island near the mull of kintyre
@jarrowvikingsinsaneangling9785 thanks for the reply 🙏🏻 hopfully get pollock that size one day 🎣
Where did you get your extending net jv ?
hi mate from predator tackle uk ....you buy the 5.9m telescopic handle made by daiwa its the rock fishing landing net handle,,,,then choose the net head i have the spro freestyle flick net head carbon....hope this helps
@jarrowvikingsinsaneangling9785 thanks mate will check them out 🎣
I was there three months ago, myself! had a great time with mackerel and big Pollack. Were you out Treshnish way in the first part? If you're ever going back, let me know and I'll tell you a few choice marks. I lived on Mull for ten years.
sounds like a great time...i was at caliach point in the north west of the island and thought id take a look along the cliffs there but could not find a way down absolutely huge vertical cliffs for miles! so i fished near caliach point in the first part then later at duart castle rocks...it will probably be a few years before i manage to go back now but id love to try new spots someday and would be very grateful for more info....my email is rogersdavid326@gmail.com if you dont wish to divulge on a public channel...much appreciated tightines bud and all the christmas best!
I use 22lb Daiwa J-Braid and am happy with it. Casts very well and strong. I use it on a Daiwa BG MQ 4000 on a Savage Gear 10ft 12-46g. Does me for Pollack on the kelpy west coast of Scotland, so strong enough for anywhere else.
thanks yes ill give it a go i do prefer my mainline as slim as possible and ive recently began to reduce my bs again down toward 20lb and so far so good.. cheers mate
Stayed at the caravan park there couple of times walked down to the old abandoned pier there are some monster pollock there be prepared to be trapped on the pier till the tide leaves again worth it though great days fishing

hello there davey, another great video of yours, no razzmatazz or nonsense, just a good fisher loving his sport, nice one 👏🏻👏🏻 i have been on neist point about 6 times in the last 2 years and it never lets you down, on one session for an hour we were getting either a fish or a take every cast at any depth, nothing big only up to 4lb but i hooked one and could'nt lift my rod tip up, the dives were fearsome and then it straightened my split ring, i reckon it was a good double? so after that i came home and ordered heavy duty split rings and owner in line single hooks, they give a superb hook up, this year on skye i think i lost a salmon, it took near the surface but did'nt dive, it ran along the side of the rocks about 8-10ft down and took 40 yards of line off me but inbetween me and the fish was a rock the size of a car and i could'nt get over it, and that was it 💥😭 i can still see it yet, skye is the place for action, that weekend my pal and me had over 70 between us, keep the great videos coming davey, your work is the best out there 👍🏼
@@johngraham5996 Aww thanks mate...yes skye is the place for sure. Im glad you done well at neist point..tgat write up had my adreniline going brilliant...bet you cant wait to go back...i cant wait...tightlines mate and all the best
@@jarrowvikingsinsaneangling9785 hello davey a quick question regarding elgol, i have an older lab and she's not so good on the rocks now, is elgol dog friendly, would she have easy access down to the water or not? i have a 150 mile drive to skye and dont want to take her if she wont be happy, heading across tomorrow (12th oct) many thanks davey 👍🏼

Hi Dave enjoyed your I.O.M. trip as it bought back many happy memories of years gone by. It was one of my wife and kids favourite holiday destinations with plenty to do for them as well as the fishing. I have recognised both those marks you were fishing. I you ever go back to that first mark try free lining a Ragworm particularly late season, a local angler gave me that bit of advice and it worked well. We used to stay at a place called Groudle Glen just North of Douglas. I often brought my diving equipment as well as the fishing gear. I can tell you some of the Wrasse I came across in that area were of epic proportions! Although we caught plenty of Wrasse there the big lads never seemed to show interest in our offerings. We also found a bit of a strange anomaly whilst using fish baits at this mark. The Dogfish were jet black whereas the Doggies at other marks were just the normal colours as you would find anywhere, very odd! Another spot we found very good for lure fishing was Point of Ayr at the top of the Island. Surprising what turns up there.
@@gordoncarass2360 yes black dogfish are very strange Ive only caught them at loch etive...the ragworm tip is excellent thanks mate...and Im glad it brought back some lovely memories for you...tightlines mate and all the best
Cheers Dave … Isle of Man 🇮🇲 is a fantastic place. Been many times but never thought of bringing a rod. It’s the motorbikes I go for, the tt and Southern 💯. Maybe next time I’ll bring a rod and wet a line. Really enjoyed the video as indeed I have all your videos, you have taken us to some absolutely stunning spots this year and usually give us a master class in fishing. Thanks so much for sharing JV you take care mate 👍🎣🎣
I had a great time driving the course 40mph was about my best god knows how the bikers do it at max speed...loved Kates corner a fantastic location...tightlines and all the best mate
Shame things didn’t work out as you would of hoped for but don’t look on it as a negative. Every trip is a learning curve and if you ever go back again at least you will know more than the first time which should be to your advantage. Looking forward to the next ones, tight lines .
