Getting near the end of Caroline doing Pat Highsmith's Diaries/Notebooks just now and she doesn't so much as narrate them as *become* Pat on the long, crazy journey of her life. There's 42 hours of it but when I finish I'm going straight back to the beginning. The only quibble I could find is that while the various foreign language phrases (Highsmith was multi-lingual) were generally good, a bit of German coaching wouldn't have gone amiss -- but then my ears are attuned to that language. It's the best value on Audible outside of 'Infinite Jest', and though in the last analysis that's down to Highsmith, without Caroline Hewitt's consistently stunning job it wouldn't have been the same.

Can't wait for the limited series on Netflix!!
