Great review Cory! Good point about how Dune is an early showcase of some of Lynch's key visual motifs.

The movie is basically about a jealous failed actress who hires someone to have her love interest, the dark-haired lady, killed after being exploited by her then get dumped for the movie director. Consumed by guilt and regret after knowing the assassination was a success, she created some sort of a dream world where she becomes a successful actress and the other lady is totally in love with her, as means to escape the reality. What you see in the first half of the movie is that dream. In this dream the killer she hired is a lousy one, as if she wishes he was so bad that he failed to kill the lady. You see the movie director having all sorts of troubles in this dream because she wanted him to suffer. It's only when they opened that blue box that the movie takes you back to reality and you see what really happened. The final moments of the movie show Diane having a complete psychological breakdown as she can no longer maintain the dream world she created, and the dream turns into a nightmare that seeps into her reality. Overwhelmed by despair, she sees only one way to escape this, by taking her own life, putting an end to the illusion once and for all. It's a really sad movie when you think about it.

Extremely messy Burger.. but this is a delicious Burger! I really try my best not to eat this in my car because of how messy this is. I went through the drive-thru and got this burger... Only to find out they didn't give me any napkins! Between the large amount of mayonnaise ketchup and mustard that they put on it, when you take a bite, everything slides out of the bun. Still, it's completely worth it, an overall it's my favorite McDonald's hamburger.

Writer/director John Milius felt that The Wild Bunch was mostly bullshit, but what distinguished the film was the final "Let's go!"/ "Why not?" before the suicidal last stand, because it represented spirit that was uniquely American. I don't entirely agree with him, but that's what he said

"Paper Moon" is a thoroughly wonderful film. A comedy that works is a rare bird indeed. As usual, Madeline Khan steals every scene she is in. This film was made in 1973, when America was optimistic, and life's sweetness comes through in every frame. A pleasant change from the dystopian gloom that makes most current films an ordeal. One delightful exception, of course, "Little Miss Sunshine," a recent comedy that also keeps its sunny side up.
