Yaaaaay! @hornsofplenty_oxford
Got a laugh out of me😅
Florence park had Bad flood problems at first
The chap at 7.19, said exactly what I was thinking, it is nothing like it used to be, it is still an interesting film, just not relatable for me.
Love this...Informative and clever
Great video, and loved hearing the stories. Feels like progression and regression go hand in hand, especially with the hate and intolerance increasing again. Well done Film Oxford, for all of the important work you do.
I was a teen in the 70's so some of this is before my time, but what an intersting snapshot of Oxford. Great video, and I loved everybody's reminisces.
Really enjoyed this and learning from it. Photos of old Oxford great as well. Thanks so much for sharing
Trixie is adorable!
God they all look old.
I knew the lady who she thought her husband was living in a factory. Don't know how to spell her name. Last time I saw her was when the had The Blackbird pub. Enjoyed the place and Caribbean club on Cowley Rd then over to Crown Street for party. 💚💛❤️
What a lovely movie. Know mention of Gales well Northgate as I knew as. R.I.P Mark 😢
Well done Tallulah and group.
Anyone remember the catacombs
Love
One Oxford character I can remember from the 60s and beyond was "Joyce." I recall being ushered across the road in St Aldates by my parents as Joyce swept down the street in a pair of ladies slacks and a chiffon scarf. He was quite a character! I worked in Oxford in the 80s and I saw "Joyce" knocking on the window of a bus in Gloucester Green to attract the attention of a man that he had taken a shine to. Joyce was as camp as Christmas, a complete extrovert - and at times, an embarrassment. He blazed a trail at a time when homosexuality was illegal. In his prime he was a sight to behold. Britain needs more eccentrics.
Yes I remember Joyce very well, a real eccentric, and completely fearless. Someone sent me an article recently about Joyce, it was from BBC Radio Oxford, entitled, Thomas John Joyce, interesting read.
Not a single "Oxford" accent to be heard in the whole video. 0:40. Nice tandem though! Ma & Pa & 2 kiddies. No helmets in those days.
Danke für dieses tief berührende Video und Teilen ihrer Erfahrungen. Mein allergrößter Respekt an alle Beteiligten!! Alle guten Wünsche aus Deutschland ❤!
Excellent. I was in the Twist and Shake group contest on 22 June 1964 (poster about 2 mins 50 seconds in). Great memories.
Thank you so much ! Beautiful result of all our hard work that we have done . It has been an honour to work with you all!
Good to see Pete Peterson and Adrian Hopkins in this great video.
My husband is oxonian and spent most of the 60's riding his bikes and scrapping 🤣🤣 he was quite well known in oxford
Fantastic! How wonderful to see Oxford in the 60's. My parents were teenagers in this era and I came along in the 70's. It does all seem like another lifetime, a different world and I miss the simplicity. My daughter did some courses with Film Oxford and is now studying film at Salford Uni. Well done for putting this together, I know how many hours and immeasurable patience went into it.
Well done Tallulah and whole group.
This is an excellent film, and a wonderful insight. My new favourite channel 😊 well done team!
The Florence Park housing estate was built by my Gt. Uncle Nathaniel Moss a builder from Merthyr Tydfil to house the Morris car workers. He used mostly Welsh workers and Welsh slate for the roofs. The park was dedicated to his daughter Florence who died aged 30.
I wish somebody had spoken to me about this before putting it up.
So beautiful to see! Thanks for putting this together ❤
Fantastic documentary, being a skin head gave me the confidence I lacked and some great friends and some amazing adventures, get your hair cropped boots on your feet unstoppable mate unstoppable.
I still find a girl with a Chelsea cut....So hot looking.....
Do you or did you ever know Tracy or Dawn from Banbury?
Wow! Thank you for sharing your story. Represent!!
Anyone remember two tone Spencer's😎👍
this is great, i remember walking past the punks on bonn square, i would stare back over my shoulder and my mum would pull on my hand... i was transfixed
A great little documentary, honest and direct. Many of us can certainly relate to it.
Wow really enjoyed this, I must of missed all this as I was taken to Australia in the late sixties .
you looked really nice as a skinhead girl :)
If you can get hold of a copy, my documentary back in 84 showed my own tumultuous journey through care homes til they got fed up with me and sent me to a special place in Redhill and carrot and stick they turned me around. If you watched the first Parole on BBC, Colin was in my house and were strong mates til I lost touch with him until last year I spoke with him and he told me of his own woes. Programme is 20/20 Vision shown january 1984 just as the skinhead thing was more oi boy and the scooter thing had taken off.
I had one of those combs .I made a mess of my hair on many occasions .
Proper good video that ,well done
Morrissey would love this video!
Great vid! As a black yank, who loves all things British, this is much appreciated. Liked and added to a playlist.

Very touching film, you found safety for a few more years. I have daughters and this resonates.
This was great, Sharon. Thank you.
Came across this by chance. Really honest and heartfelt. Loved the poetry.
It was nice to go back there for a moment..cheers
White guy here. Dated a black girl a couple years. She used to do punk shows. She said all the skinheads would always protect her at punk shows but never f**k her. She's very attractive. That's just how they felt. These days they'd probably beat her ass or something similar.
So back in the day they liked fighting black males whenever but they protected all females. They just didn't comingle or f*,k. Imo back then it was a little better than now. Still fed up though. Just trying to share history.
