Sunderland Fans Loudest Singing

A few clips I found on an old VHS video, 1985 Milk Cup final, we had 50,000 in our end and probably about 20,000 in the Norwich end, the noise was amazing. It's the loudest I have ever witnessed personally.
SAFC looking back over the year

Instead of looking forward to 2009 I found myself looking back on late 2007 and 2008, remembering those that are no longer with us.
Whose great idea was it NOT to take the ticket's off the Sunderland fans once they had gone through the turnstiles?? They didn't which allowed many to throw them down to ticketless fans outside the ground.
Derby fan was there when Sunderland got beat 6 nil at the baseball ground still one of the loudest fans I've ever heard there ❤
Fans turned up.Team didnt.
I was there and about all I can remember is how pathetic we were.
Brilliant! Thanks for this.
My heart are part of Sunderland from spain never forget the city of tyne & wear 🇪🇦❤️😘
Remember the day well. Absolutely deafening 🙂
I, too, just made it in so was surrounded by Norwich fans. The football wasn't great but everyone around us really enjoyed the entertainment from Sunderland fans we could see all around the ground. I remember the loudest cheer seemed to be at the end when Norwich did their lap of honour. "There's only one Gary Rowell, one Gary Rowell". The former Sunderland favourite was a sub for Norwich. That was a cruel taunt by Sunderland fans in response to their teams dreadful performance.
Roker roar
Definitely brought a lump to my throat, as a little girl l could see the orange brick college clock on Green Terrace which stopped decades ago from our kitchen window, St Michael's Place was torn down in 1974 along with surrounding streets in order to build Sunderland university, can still trace exactly where it was, a stone's throw from University metro. The old college eventually became a nightclub.
2:53 I think it was the biggest crowd in the region this season
I was at that Cup Final, aged 12yrs. My Dad managed to get us tickets but in the Norwich end. I remember being really gutted about being in that end as we walked up Wembley Way....but when we got in Sunderland fans had pretty much the whole bottom terrace of their end! Losing to shite goal and missing a penalty was stereotypical SAFC - and singing so loud that the Norwich fans couldn't be heard when they lifted the cup is also pure SAFC . 7 Wembley trips later I finally saw us win, sadly not with my Dad but with my 2 sons. Best day of our lives. HTL

I was there. Gives me goosebumps. Duffy Seaham boys. FTM.
My first game was Sunderland v Charlton Ath we won 2•1 and got promoted. the Roker Roar was the best I was a Fulwell Ender, I'm 68 and still a staunch Red and White through and through, a lot of youngsters should see this great piece of history, I still have Sunderland football programmes from the late 60s and they were 9 old pennies, Roker Park will never die, when I got too 18 I drank in the new derby pub.
HAWAY HAWAY HAWAY HAWAY HAWAY HAWAY HAWAY HAWAY
I'm 30 year old and gutted I never got to experience Roker Park.
class
A once thriving town, utterly destroyed economically by successive vision-free and incompetent Labour councils, short-sighted industry management and militant unionism. I was born there and lived and worked there until 1975 when I left for ever in sheer disgust.
Where did you go? Been back since?
If out of date grounds had been demolished in 1966 for world cup Hillsborough would not have happened
No problems till then why’s that Hillsborough. Or hysel
So sad, so many changes and not all of them for the better.
TRFC. I was there with my Canary mate. Brilliant day. Sunderland class all day
Tear in my eye every time stid
The biggest crowd the biggest crowd in the region… fuck the murderers
Was there..First time I cried at a game..Apart from Wembley a month ago..However, that was happy tears….
Your title's wrong, should be, Now and Then.
I was there a few weeks back to finally see Sunderland win at Wembley. Beating Wycombe was my ninth attempted at seeing Sunderland at Wembley, without walking out feeling despondent and going over UA-cam, hoping I could find a different result. There were fellas with tears in their eyes when Ross Stewart scored the second. It`s been a long time coming and pleasing to see all the youngsters at Wembley supporting Sunderland. Let`s hope it`s not another 49 year wait for success at the home of English Football. Red and white army.
u have always been multiple steps behind Newcastle, I was watching a game the other day and ur stadium was half empty and made absolutely zero noise, most of ur fans have given up, also watched u in the championship a few times with again a half empty silent ground, both times Newcastle were there they filled out there stadium and made a heck of a noise, I hate to say it guys but u have and always will be behind the Geordies
Sunderland council, like many around the UK, are fucking retarded.
Does anyone know what the second song is? Can't make the words out!! Much appreciated.
Many years of Labour mis rule and govt neglect have ruined a once proud town-city. Newcastle.....affluent Sunderland....deprived. Things MUST change for this north east ghost city.We need levelling up with Newcastle let alone the South.
It is changing! By Keele Square they're building fancy new offices near the old Vaux site! Newcastle is a better city, though. Sunderland has lots of them funny little houses!
@@Juliukas101 it's a better city because it's been well run by successive councils and has had the serious govt investment which has also gone to Gateshead a town. As for the Vaux site you are alluding to, it has taken over 20 years to get where we are now because the said council never purchased the prime city centre land at that time when it became available with a compulsory purchase..20 years of time and investment wasted. Funny little houses...terraced cottages. Sunderland left behind while Newcastle was not.The north east should have TWO great functional cities but unfortunately only has one.
Roker Park1898-1997
What a cracking weekend that was apart from the result keep the faith ftm
Love my city and always will and love these types of clips just Wish my Dad was still here to share a story or Two and to see the sights be it not all the pretty all of the time but generally good and good folk at heart 👍😘
Rocker park always in my heart,,
Great memories and footage, the start of many Wembley disappointments for me but what a run to get there, Watford away (favourite ever away game), Chelsea semi final at Roker Park (favourite ever game), and then Wembley. That was me with the air horn as the cameras get close up on Ian Wallace pre game, i was only 16 at the time.
for those wondering the song is hear our prayer by Yuki kajiura..
The biggest problem with Sunderland is the miners, no disrespect to them, but they keep voting the same people in, the same people who destroyed the city. The true industry in Sunderland is the Call centres, Retail and Nissan. Call centres are the true backbone, where are the white collar workers marches, pomp and ceremony?
It was kind of Norwich to give their allocation to Sunderland to make up the 70,000.
Sunderland v Norwich 50 50 Norwich had half Sunderland v Charlton different story
Out of the North East 3 - SUNDERLAND yes SUNDERLAND have the record of being in the 3rd Tier the most and never been in a European Final. You are the loudest in League 1 Massive Club LOL
Kevin you probably a grown man with a wife and kids and you are still obsessed watching sunderland videos you are a very sad immature man and must be an embarrasment to your family
Norwich sunderland 50 50 you clown
League Cup was a prestigous trophy all the way through 80s & 90s with massive attendances for the final every year. Shame what has happened to it and also FA Cup. Mackem support was outstanding on that day and I'm a Geordie.
Up the mags ⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️
Cheeky cheeky at the end LOL That was when football was football bovril and peanuts, not prawn sandwiches and caviar
