The Person of the Message
We know from John 1:19-23, that John the Baptist was the fulfillment of Isaiah 40:3--the voice of one crying in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord! In this message preached on Sunday, December 18th, 2024, Pastor takes an in-depth look at three (of several) names God's Son was given prior to (or shortly after) His coming as a man: Jesus (Mt 1:21), Emmanuel (Mt 1:23), and King of the Jews (Mt 2:1-2).

The Messenger of Jesus' Second Coming (December 11th, 2024)
Переглядів 209 годин тому
We know from Mt 3:1-4...and Mark 1:1-4...and Luke 3:1-4...and John 1:19-23 that John the Baptist was the fulfillment of Isaiah 40:3 regarding Jesus' first coming. But what about His Second coming? Will there be another messenger to announce Jesus' return in glory at the end of the Tribulation? Malachi 4:5-6 says Elijah will come and Revelation 11:3-11 seems to allude to Elijah as one of "the tw...
Unprepared for the Coming of Christ
Переглядів 17День тому
Why is it that Mark, Luke, and John all begin their respective books by writing more about the coming of John the Baptist than they do about Mary and Joseph? Because God wanted His people to know that Jesus was the One they were looking for! In this sermon preached on Sunday, December 8th, 2024, Pastor shows how John's ministry was a fulfillment of Isaiah 40:1-11 and that they had no excuse for...

In this sermon, preached on December 1st, 2024, Pastor discusses Saul's obedience as a "seeker" (under conviction of sin) and the obedience of God's servant Ananias. Both had a desire to obey, directions they were given to obey, difficulty in what they were asked to ...

The Conversion of Saul of Tarsus--and His Thankfulness
Переглядів 821 день тому
In this sermon preached on Sunday, November 24th, Pastor points out the following truths seen in Saul's conversion (Acts 9:1-9): 1) Jesus is alive and knows everything about us! 2) Salvation is found in a relationship not a religion! 3) Jesus knocks us off our "high horse" because He loves us! He concludes the sermon with a brief look at Paul's thankfulness for his salvation (roughly 25 years l...
Acts 5:33-42 (November 20th, 2024)
Переглядів 621 день тому
In this Bible study, Pastor first reviews the command that must be obeyed in order to be given the Holy Ghost (Spirit; Acts 5:32). What is that command? To obey the gospe! How do we obey good news? By first understanding the bad news: that we are all sinners...and can't get rid of our sin...and that we will be separated from God forever after we die if we die unforgiven. The good news is that w...

In this sermon preached on Sunday, November 17th, 2024, Pastor begins to lay the background for his upcoming series in the book of Colossians by "introducing us" to Saul of Tarsus who later become known as the Apostle Paul. First, he looks at what Paul himself tells us about his ancestry and education in Philippians 3:5-6. Pastor then shows us just how zealous Saul was when it came to persecuti...
The Fight Against the Enemy Within (Post Election, 2024)
Переглядів 3Місяць тому
In this sermon preached on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, Pastor shared some concerns about how God's children would respond to the results of the election. The nation of Israel became ungrateful and proud after enjoying the prosperity of the Promised Land (Deuteronomy 8 and 9). We, too, can "get full" and forget what God has done for us and even slip into outwardly serving God but inwardly servi...

The Re-Arrest, Angelic Release, and Re-Interrogation of the Apostles (Acts 5:17-28)
Переглядів 4Місяць тому
In this Bible Study held on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024, Pastor takes an in-depth look at Acts 5:17-28. The religious rulers were angry at the apostles for preaching Jesus (after being told not to) and envious because of the impact they were having on the city of Jerusalem. A humorous aspect of this account is how God chose to get them out of prison. Guards and locked doors should have kept t...
How Do We Glorify God? Proclaim Him--in the Church!
Переглядів 6Місяць тому
God wants us to proclaim Him to our families and to a lost and dying world! But...God also needs to be proclaimed by each of us to one another within the church family! Is it possible that God's people have fallen prey to a "consumer's" mindset regarding church? Do we focus too much on what we "get out of" church and don't think enough about what we need to be "putting into" the church? In this...

How Do We Glorify God? We Proclaim Him!
Переглядів 6Місяць тому
Numerous verses in the Psalms remind us that we are to praise God for who He is and for what He has done. But we also know that we are to proclaim Him! Praise is upward directed toward God; proclaim is outward directed toward others. Psalm 145:4 is an example of God's desire that we proclaim Him. "One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts." In this serm...
