Deputy Editor for Nature Medicine, Dr Liam Messin (BSc Biochemistry, 2012; MSc Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research, 2013; PhD Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research, 2017) received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from The University of Warwick. He then completed his Masters and PhD in interdisciplinary biomedical research at Warwick Medical School.
As he stated in his speech: "I have my bachelor's, masters and PhD all from Warwick, so it'd be an understatement to say this university means a lot to me."
With interests are global health, public health, and non-communicable diseases, Liam has worked in science communications since leaving Warwick.
He left graduands with a simple, but powerful final thought in his speech: "I would ask you when you leave this room to be helpful, to be humble and most of all be kind."
