Yes, the feeling of being superior among Vaishnavas definitely exists. Take Iyengars, ISKCON, Gaudias, Madhvas and may other sects. Social issues such as untouchability, , sprinkling water where other caste people sit or stand, not giving water to others, not allowing burial etc etc are due to them.
