Thanks for posting that. The Rover was slower off the mark away from the staging lights too! Very impressive stuff, Those who believe these old Rover 75s and MG ZTs are only owned by the aged Pipe and Slipper types are very wrong. Within my two thirty something sons' circle of fine car enthusiast friends are a number of MG and Rover owners. Cars owned by them include the finest looking ex Cowley 75 I've ever seen, a pristine MK1 MG Metro in better condition now than the new one was when I bought it back in 1982. Also for good measure, an MG ZT 260 with a Mustang V8 Power unit. Also owned are the more ordinary examples like Streetwise, ZT 160 and Rover 25s. That pristine MK1 MG Metro is much older than its owner. Rover and MG owner pensioner me gave up the nicotine habit over forty years ago and I'm saving up hard for some comfy slippers. Sorted

I've got one of these (facelift) babies and I love her even after 18 years of high maintenance - I have been lucky in life just to own and drive a 2.5 V6 75.

did i read correctly that you use std 1800 axle shafts?

@mgb40v8 570 ft/lbs is 773 nm Your 400 nm is 295 ft/lbs. So you have a long way to go before you need to worry about shaft damage. I find the best shafts are secondhand 1800 shafts. My theory is that they have been seasoned by years of gentle use :) Regards Perry If you want to see the car in action I attend Santapod quite often. Are you anywhere near Norhtampton??

@mgb40v8 205hp @ 306 ft/lbs on the carb. 402hp @ 570ft/lbs with a 200 shot of gas.

So what are the dyno figures then plse?

If I remember correctly it made at least 350 but I cant remember exactly.
