The BEST Value Audi S4/S5 Exhaust
Hey guys, this exhaust setup is what I believe to be the best value exhaust for the Audi 3.0 supercharged platform. For this exhaust setup, I have removed the two front baby resonators, and replaced them with the Magnaflow 11385 (a resonated x-pipe), and then removed the centre resonator and replaced it with straight pipes. All in all this exhaust cost me around $700 (labour included) compared to the brand named $2k-3k exhausts.
I daily drive this car and find this setup to be perfect as there is no drone whatsoever, and it has a much nicer tone to it than stock. It isn't obnoxiously loud and I don't find it raspy at all, but I'm sure if I went cat-less it would need changing up. I have seen that the 11385 can sound different after a few months after it breaks in, but I've had this setup for almost 2 months now and it still sounds the same!
Let me know what you guys think!

Holden VF SV6 - Black Ops 2.25" Catback Exhaust

Here's a short video that hopefully shows the sound of the 2.25" catback exhaust by Black Ops. It is the cheaper option over the X-Force system because it isn't stainless steel. So far it has been a great system, no drone whatsoever and sounds great when you put your foot down.

Holden VE SV6 - 3” Hotdog mufflers & J-Pipe
Переглядів 8 тис.3 роки тому
Here’s my VE SV6 with 3” hotdog mufflers and J-pipes. Wasn’t a cold start but she wasn’t warm either. I’ll upload another video with a cold/warm start, revs, idle, and drive by soon. There is a slight buzzing under the exhaust tone which is just the number plate vibrating.
floor it. for the best sound. just bought an sv6 lfx series 2. Turbo 6's and modern v8's are our only rivals.
Hi I have a b8.5 s5 just like you and I have the same rattle that you have in the first clip. What was the problem and how did you fix it.
I have the same thing on my s4, it’s so annoying 😭
It’s a flex pipe that tends to rattle I have the same on my 2013 s5 at 1100 rpm.
You'd able to reach gold coast to Wyong fuel ⛽️ station on the one tank if not Sydney ❤ beats v8❤❤❤❤
Sounds great, any chance we could get a video showing what the setup actually looks like? On your other video you mentioned cutting out the two “baby resonators”, and then also removing a third resonator, but I thought there were only two resonators. Where does the 11385 sit physically in the exhaust setup? Thanks in advance, this setup sounds much better than many others.
The stock exhaust goes like this. From the Cats to 2 baby resonators to a center resonator then to the rear mufflers then to the tips. What he did is replacing the baby resonators with the magnaflow and deleted the center resonator and straight piped to the rear mufflers
hey have you got cats and cai as well? I just bought this system but havent got it fitted yet.
Yeah still had cats, everything was stock apart from exhaust
Still no problems? Heard something about they like to blow ups.
I tried putting the cat back on but it didn’t fit on the headers due to a weird semi dome on the flange, any suggestions
Yeah I had the same problem. The dome like part actually pops off from the flange, you need to use a screwdriver and hammer to pop it off. Look at 0:59 in this vid: ua-cam.com/video/FfK1tbHmqss/v-deo.htmlsi=4p9w_fNztrPLaqCO
@@jamespirrieyou are such a bloody legend bro thank you so much 🙌🙌🙌
@@samyarwood2118 No worries mate, good luck!!
@@jamespirrieit went on like a charm, sounds soooo good
Is the sound this exhaust make considered roadworthy?
I believe so, drove past many cops and never had issues. There are definitely louder cars on the road!
Sounds like a vacuum cleaner
What cats do you have in as I’m about to drop 200cell cats in mine and wanting to know if to loud or makes it better sound or makes it drone to much and my motor is ly7 that’s been worked witch is why I am asking
Hey mate, the whole exhaust setup was stock apart from the mufflers. So it still had stock cats
Nice clips! I got this exact same setup on my s5 a couple of months ago too, your previous video helped. These clips sound pretty accurate, it’s a great set up!!
Was this LFX series 2 ve
Hey mate, this was the series 2 VE with the LLT. Ive heard they sound pretty much the same though
🎊 "PromoSM"
Is this 11385 replacing the baby resonators and then straight piping the centre? I’m looking to get this setup for my S5 - if you have any more vids / drive by vids of how it sounds that would be amazing
Yes thats right, 11385 in place of baby resonators and then cut out the big centre resonator. I'll upload a more in depth video soon!
Just posted a video with more clips!
Hey mate, can’t decide between 2.25” and 2.5”. I heard ur mate has the 2.5” version, how much louder and any drone or tin can noises?
Only reason I went for the 2.25 over the 2.5 is that the 2.5 was more likely to drone in a sedan. In a wagon the drone would be worse, but my friend with the 2.5 has a Ute so drone wasn’t really a concern of his. The 2.5 is noticeably louder both inside the car and from outside. I wouldn’t say it sounded raspy or tin can like at all. I would recommend the 2.5 if you’re after more volume all round instead of just when you put your foot down (like the 2.25), and if you’re okay with a little drone inside the cabin.
Where can i purchase one souds good
These are the Holden VE Commodore 3” Tailpipes with J Pipes and Hotdogs from VEO Performance.
hey mate, could you send the link of which one you got?
Hey mate, here’s where i got it: www.goblackops.com.au/products/holden-commodore-ve-vf-sv6-sedan-dual-2-25-catback-exhaust
finally a video on this exhaust. thanks for convincing me to purchase this. question though, was it just the whole system that was a poor fit? or just the tips
Hahah yeah i couldn’t find any videos of what it sounded like before i bought it. Everything fits fine, it was just the hangers on one of the mufflers were bent in a direction that made it hard to get the muffler on. So I just used a mallet and some wrenches to try bend the hangers and it eventually slid in. My mate has the 2.5” black ops catback and his fit fine, didn’t have to bend anything. Was probably just a one off.
Hey bro, any chance you could tell me where you get your back tail lights I’ve been looking everywhere an can’t seem to find them tryna put some in my VF
I bought the car with them on, but you can get them at JHP Vehicle Enhancements jhp.com.au/shop/exterior-accessories/holden-commodore-vf-hsv-style-led-tail-light-kit/
@@jamespirrie thank you heaps man
any chance of hearing what it sounds like from inside the car?
did u have to get anything done for them to fit?
Nope, installation took me probably 30 minutes!
Do you still have these on? Really debating between these or red back sports mufflers. What do you reckon I should get? Just crazy concerned about being obnoxious if I get the hotdoggos
I haven’t seen too much on the red back sports mufflers, but i assume they would be much more subtle compared to these mufflers. I really enjoyed this exhaust over the 2years i had it on, and I never got sick of the sound so i’d recommend this one. In regards to being obnoxious, I never got any attention from police or any complaints from neighbours, plus who cares what others think as long as you’re happy with it.
@@jamespirrie fair enough mate, what car did you end up getting after this sv6?
@@wizzfizz6800 I just upgraded to a VF sv6, got the black ops 2.25” catback on that which i’ll probably post soon!
@@jamespirrie sweet man! Please post soon, I’m thinking of getting that system as well with the hi flow cats!
@@jamespirrie please post soon i just got my VF and i'm looking at getting the same system
where/what are the rear lights?
They’re just aftermarket tail lights that you can find on ebay. Mars Performance sell them and so do Ozeparts.
Hey was there anything else that you modified to make it sound like this ? I have a ve sv6 wanting to mod it
Nope, just the rear mufflers
Hey mate do you know if it’s road legal? Cheers
No it's pretty much a muffler delete. I tell you it will drown it's nuts off.
The legality of it just depends on noise output and emissions I believe. Wasn't loud enough to get attention from police, so from my experience it was fine. Also PrestigeWorldWide179 is right, it was pretty droney in the backseat at around 2200rpm.
Hey Mate is this road legal? Cheers
Does it have a tune as well ?
Nah no tune, not sure if it’s effected my fuel consumption or if it’s just the way I drive but I’m averaging 14.1L/100km
I need the name please mate
Holden VE Commodore 3” Tailpipes with J Pipes and Hotdogs from VEO Performance!
it actually sounds pretty good. does it drone?
There isn’t much drone, only around 2-2.5k revs or when going up a small hill. Much louder and more droney in the back seats, but you get used to it in the front.
Any vids of you cruising or if there’s any drone?
Will try upload a video to show when it drones and what it’s like!
@@jamespirrie can you upload that sometime soon mate cheers, need a reference for how it is in the backseat too
@@wizzfizz6800 hey mate unfortunately i sold the car so can’t upload that anymore. But just for reference, sitting in the backseat was pretty bad. I kinda had to treat the car as a 2 seater, but on short trips it was fine, anything over 20 mins was when the headaches would set in. Also depended on what sort of driving it was, most drone was at 2000-2400rpm.
@@jamespirrie cheers homie, I really appreciate the honesty
I can’t comment on your recent video but cheers for that, with your exhaust system the mid pipes, do they have a hot dog and a cat converter roughly in the centre of the car?
Exhaust is stock except for the mufflers, so I assume it is just cats and a resonator in the middle.
Are you still gonna do another video with the drive by, revs exc?
hows the exhaust sound after owning it for a while? can we have a sound update?
anything else done to the car?
Nothing else mechanically, just aesthetic mods!
is there much drone, and does it feel slugish?
Initially i thought it was pretty droney but i’ve gotten used to it and love it now. The back seat is pretty bad and could be sickening after a while. Only drones around 2-2.5 i’ve found. Car doesn’t feel sluggish at all.
@@jamespirrie cheers mate, and the exhaust is the only sort of engine mod you have done? rest is stock?
@@rncadventures8812 Yeah everything else is stock 🥲
That’s gonna sound like shit
To each their own. Feel free to buy me a V8 anytime :)
where did you get this?
