Also after he was exiled on Earth by his cousin Kraang Sub-prime and lost his (lizard? or android?) body, Krang and his Stone Warriors clearly were still locked in a war against the Kraang who were still in Dimension X, so maybe he wanted to conquer Earth alongside Shredder to get more soldiers and resources in order to fight them
@New Trek Wars Theory yeah I guess you are right, but in an episode of the old cartoons (invasion of the Krangzoids) it was showed the clones of Krang actually grew lizard bodies, but as you said it is possible it was just an error of the cloning machine and Krang himself never was a lizard even in the past but he only had a different Kraang-android body that he lost when he was exiled on Earth (although probably Krang was not a "pure" member of the Utrom/Kraang and for this reason he wasn't mind controlled by Kraang Prime and he was only a distant cousin of Subprime, and he didn't talk in the same way of the Kraang either)
