Congratulations Lizzie! Very well deserved and good luck in your new position 🎉
Congratulations Lizzy! We are lucky to have you there. Mick.
I found this so fasinating, the amount of history of both the rivers and the areas they flow through, answers so many questions in my thoughts. Im glad I came across this video..well worth stopping to watch 😊
I spent long summer days as a youngster fishing the a Clady and the Crumlin. I went to the boys model which sits right beside the Mile. Unfortunately my history teacher never mentioned the rich history right beside us. Great video, thank you.
When I was a kid we knew the Glas na Brandan as the Haney. It had a healthy population of trout. I spent a lot of time wading around in it.
Lough neagh and most rivers around the flush ballymartin sixmile and clady are being destroyed with pollution by new builds sad
There are People called Ireland still live in dundrod
Reference the saw Mill in Crumlin my geat uncle Joe Williamson owned it pat of the wall and Mill race is still there
Bit of a correction, I'm pretty sure the Flush Rivermeets Ballymartin Water just behind where Hydepark Bleach Works used to sit in Mallusk and from then it's called Ballymartin Water
That's right was born rared beside the bleach works was a beautiful place all round there
Bro Ik I’m like 3 years late to this but this little girl just gave me a leave so in return imma give her this
That is a brilliant lecture. I don't understand the bit about the Farset river "stopping" at about the junction of what is now High St and Victoria St. I understand that the land between there and where the Lagan now flows is reclaimed land but sure all that water has to enter the Lagan somewhere?
From high Street to the lagan the river still flows in a culvert to the lagan
Excellent presentation
Thank you
Very true :)

This is very important advice. I totally agree with you.
Can I ask a question as did not see it mentioned on the video. When the river exits the windy gap 'the gulley' it travel across the lower mountain above gortnamona, it's joined by a spring that originates just below 'the bears cave' on the foot of the mountain, and travels along the back off Dermott hill and then disappears into a culvert between new Barnsley / moyard. To the left of this point there were 2 large dams (filled in many years ago) Any history on these?
farset below 2 durham street
Love thes vids keep em coming! Are you aware of the secret ancient tartarian history of tunnels and the Prince of Wales Mason Hall? Alot of money being spent in them areas... plus the hills are always changing and I wonder why and what they are doing. Is it illegal dumping in the soil or something else??? Also it would be great if u had any info on the cave Hill tunnels that lead to the storm drains... could solve the noah donahue case because the NIDFI is WITHOLDING EVIDENCE!!!!
Brilliant research! I'm up here all the time and always search for the hidden dark side that goes on up there. Especially when u look at the satanic Callander on them days and nights...
Could Cormac present a session relating to the Donegall family?
Where is the iron mine located at Lyles Hill? Is this accessible for public access?
Thank you for all the info really well explained Laura.
I love that you are putting these videos online. I have been involved with the BHP in the past, and after a time away from being in the outdoors, I have been super excited to be reconnecting with these wonderful places. Loving these videos. Please keep them coming
