A short overview of the process of turning an 8' Black Walnut slab into my Bell Bottom Bench. The process used a primarily hand tools beyond the rough in stage. In making this choice I actively committed to the art and meditation of Wabi Sabi. Each leg, and every surface caries a certain amount of imperfection. This acceptance was a commitment to balance and a certain kind of tactile experience that is not easily accomplished in a piece made in a factory. Please enjoy.
