Never heard of using a hydraulic cylinder as top link. Seems like an unneccessary expense.

every brush hog ive sold to a customer or used had a "floating" top link. ive always told my customers about the importance of the floating top link on a brush hog. ive never seen a chain top link, but then again, people that know a thing or 2 dont come onto the dealer for these things. they just figure it out for themselves and come up with things like this.

My third arm link pins on the tractor side but has a cross hasp slip spring on the hog side. Kinda like the ones for a porch swing or screen door but bigger.

Get rid of those top bars from the top link to the bush hog and replace them with chains but keep the 3rd link link to keep it square on the three point and not blow out bottom bushing on the arms
