Now I decided to do the song Panic Attack and it's a bit of a strength workout.

Crown Magnetar is one of my favorite deathcore bands right now as their brutality is unmatched right now. Man, that tone is fucking killer.
Dingwalls have such character. That transition to the main riff at the start jumpscared me.
Not a fan, they’re always over eq’d into a clanky mess that’s so nasally it’s barely useable as an actual recording tone. They really lack the low end warmth that’s needed for bass.
Haha, my tone is dialed with focus on having clank on the low B string, which means all gain and mids must be push to an extreme which aren't very beneficial for the high string as they sounds a bit to much of everything and lack warmth etc. But that's one of the sacrifices I need to do haha

I've seen you cover songs where the original is on a six string but you play it on a 5 string. I recently got a fretless 5 string and have wanted to cover things like Archspire but I was not sure how doable it was. It's an inspiration seeing you not only play this on a 5 string but also with a pick. So yeah how hard was it to translate it to a 5 string?
Hey man! Thank you for the nice words! The most difficult thing is to actually play Archspire 😉 jokes aside, my approach is to just play further up on the neck for those notes he plays on the 6th string. Downside is the long movement I have to do up the neck towards the Pickups. Usually it's super fast and it's difficult to land on the correct note as my eyes basically can't keep up, so its in the muscle memory and a bit of luck haha

Fucking nice!! I too learned an Archspire track (Golden Mouth of Ruin) in a couple of months on my 5-string, but I can't find the motivation to sit down and record myself seriously... I'll try now during the Christmas holidays!
I say do it! Recoding yourself gives you another dimension of your playing and you can really hear your strengths and weaknesses. Let me know if you ever post your cover!

Thanks man! I have actually slowed down alot. Releasing something ever second or third week usually. Without doing covers I wouldn't have anything to play. It's a some kind of therapy for me.
