03 vw golf lock cylinder housing disassembly and assembly tutorial.
Quick instructional video depicting how to disassemble and reassemble the lock cylinder housing from a 2003 Volkswagen golf drivers door, for cleaning or recoding. Process should be similar for other makes and models and identical on all mk3 Volkswagens.
This is my first instructional video, hope it helps you out.

Super labombastic fantastic školastic!!!
Latter stages still had it on fast forward so couldn't hear it see rebuild stage correctly useful deconstruction though
You are a lifesaver. Thank you! For future videos go a little slower on reassembly. Great job.
Good day, do You have a video about lock Cylinder housing of the car trunk dissensamble? Of Jetta😊
La parte que más quería ver, puso camara ligera, malísimo, ahí nada paso a paso y mostrar las piezas si van hacia arriba hacia abajo
Thanks for the video dude! It worked a treat!
ياخي لوسمحت. كيف اركب نفس هذه المغلقه. الا عرض المغلقه الثانيه حتى تسحب الباب ويفتتح
use graphite not oil to lubricate your lock cylinder. Great info outside of that
I'm also trying to repair the right steering wheel on the Volkswagen Passat b5 car, but I don't succeed when I insert the key into the SA hub, it's hard to lock it, what's wrong with the spring, how should the spring be positioned, thanks
Thank you. Your video was useful. I bought a repair kit that was out of specifications and i nedded to sand some parts and use new and old parts to get that thing worrk. Now it is working but without the spring effect but the spring is important to keep the assembly. The car has 20 years. Not perfect but working.
I know this is an old video, but the part of my lock that's jammed up is that little flap covering the keyhole. How do I fix that?
you still there Alex??
Is it possible to pull out the lock cylinder without the original key? I found a good one to replace mk4 wagon key on hatch but the original keyhole is seized up. Key can only go in about 1/8 not enough to turn it. And the replacement part doesn't have the key.
awesome video but i fucked up, i pulled out my key and forgot were all the small parts inside the lock should be
Today my VW rabbit door key unable to lock it spins 360 . I can turn to the left to unlock. Would I need a new cylinder?

If your going to do anymore videos. May I surjest that you use a camera and a tripod. Instead of that iPhone that you cannot focus on what your doing. That way you will be able to position and focus the camera on what your doing. Closing in and out. As and when it suits.
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful and informative to say the least. It will help me to repair my boot lock hopefully. As the internal assembly is seized and I cannot insert my ignition key into it.
Will this help when you can't get the key in? With my car I have problem getting the key in but not to start the car.
thanks for the tutorial. and if my key spins empty and doesn't close and open ?
Super video thank you
thank you for the illustration. the focus is sometimes a problem, but I got the hang of it. tnx
Your video helped me take apart my broken lock (1999 VW Passat) and replace the busted part, and to put it together again. Thank you so much!
Thank you so very much. I needed 3 videos to become able to repair my key. That spring drove me crazy.
how easy is the plastic cover to remove from the cylinder? i want to replace my black handles to match the colour of my car. thanks!

Good video thanks
Somebody broke my lock. I have managed to open it. I have a used lock from another car without the key. How do I open it without a key because I want to put my pins into the new lock
I just bought an Ibiza 2005 and the seller said that he had changed the driver door. So with the key I can start the car but not close the doors. The lock It doesn't turn at all. Any help can be useful guy's. Thanks
Your help is very much appreciated, thank you !
hello sir I am sending you a message for information I have a car key that can only turn only in the neiman to start but not to open the barilet, I want the same key that can turn in the cylinder my question is how can I set the sytemp of the barilet for who can turn?

Thanks for the video. I ordered a second hand part but taking out the cylinder is plan B. Couldn't lock the car and the Window kept going down, and this week it got stiff and the lock was spinning in the door. Took it out and apart to find two of rings shattered in the mechanism. Thanks
Mine is not going back when I lock the car. I think I did the spring wrong. Otherwise works. Any guesses? I don’t understand how the spring needs to go exactly
it might be redundant to mention this, but really great video, helped me a lot a little piece broke off so I'll have to replace that, but I cleaned and lubed it and it's working for now better than before anyways^^
lukas anton j. Glad it helped!
Thanks mate! Good Job!
How about key is stick inside and broken?
Why did you fast-forward the reassembling!! I was watching this to figure out how to fit the spring!!
I was young and reckless in back in 2013, I apologize. Like and subscribe for more great videos.
@@scooterkidalex I must have figured it out because the lock works perfectly now. Other than the fast forward it was very helpful. I'll check out your channel
Very usefull, same for passat B5
Great video. Same lock fitted to Polo. I found my lock was clogged with what I would guess wound be detergent containing wax, and the wax had solidified within the barrel. Had to use a mallet to remove the barrel out of the sleeve. Some pins wouldn’t remove but didn’t prove to be a problem when reassembled. Took numerous attempts to replace the main spring.
Thx very clear even for a little frenchy like me ^^
