Thank you, just need a few more views on this film to make it worth it. :)
He's baaaaaccckkk
Haha, thank you.
Nice story can you another video about midland be found?
This is awesome!
Gud video 👍
Now I know what happened to ted
This video is not playing asper the tribute to David Jenkinson one. Can you please rectify. Thanks.
The video plays now, thank you.
Apart from Railways, what I liked about David Jenkinson was that he was a great communicator. Even if you didn't know anything about the subject he was talking about, by the end of his talk,or video etc you would have an understanding, even a basic one, of what the subject he was speaking on. He certainly inspired a lot of people in his lifetime.
This video is not playing on my phone, all the other videos numbering several hundred play ok but not this one. Are there some technical issues with it? The video is not loading properly, there a white circle spinning around in the middle of the screen and the picture is frozen. Can you sort this out please as it is a very good video of a very well known man in the Railway field, both prototype and model. Thank
Thank you, the video is playing now.
I really like this style of RWS remakes you got going on, only using older models and such. The characters' basis not being necessarily accurate only adds to the charm, but I honestly don't think this is a good pick for Edward, as the narration states he is smaller than the others engines in the shed. Otherwise, great video!
Thank you, unfortunately Hornby Dublo never made a small tender engine, But it would have been nice if Edward could have been an older locomotive. :)
Thank you for this. David Jenkinson was my father and Bob Essery a sort of adopted uncle. Most people watching will be here for the railways. But for me this was a magical memory of my dad. Thank you ❤️
Thank you for the comment. :)
Sorry for your loss, Hilary. I was just looking at some of David’s articles today. He truly was an inspiration, and still is.
I'm sorry for your loss too💜 2004 seems not long ago, but it's 20 years - where does the time go. I was lucky enough to be a, for an all too brief period, pen pal of David's, all too short a life, but he packed a lot in. I was pen pals with Jack Ray and Ken Payne too - all were great men and great exponents of the hobby. Many have gone "home" now, as has Bob Essery💜✌️ Sorely missed.
Well said , my Husband has many of your Fathers books as well as those written by the Essery brothers
Nice. I’ve always wanted one of those figured
Thanks
I presume this took place before Special Attraction?
Yes, I guess in the timeline this would have taken place before Special Attraction.
So where in sodor is this located, also cool video
In a quite corner of Sodor away from the railways.
cool video bro
Glad you liked it
Its Interesting seeing a Model railway Series with really Old Hornby Dublo Models.
Thank you :)
Ngl, Sydney deserves a break.
True.
David Jenkinson was one of the pioneers who greatly influenced my modelmaking. Born in Derby, and therefore dyed-in-the-wool Midland man, most of my modelling in various scales has followed this theme. I salute his memory and have fond memories of talking with him at several exhibitions when he was exhibiting Marthwaite in EM gauge.
looks like that race car gave the steam wagon a bit of a shock when she came around the bend
Correct, I don't think Sodor is used to such a fast pace of life.
great story with a James Bond reference
Thank you.
What kind of model engines are those?
The models are Hornby Dublo, produced 1938-1964.
Why did you make edward a black 5?
I only used models that were available in the 1950s to make this remake.
Bob Essery is 100% correct: David Jenkinson will deservedly be placed amongst the Titans of railway modelling & British railway history. An astounding contribution. Hopefully he's enjoying some time in Railway Modellers' Heaven along with Peter Denny et al!
What engine is Jim and is his basis still around today?
For some reason i felt a very nostalgic feeling from this video,It reminds me of the old Christmas Specials that i've seen,Nice
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
it looked like the Tea Lady was about to hit the Poor Gaurd with her hand bag for the damage done to her iced cake buns
She wasn't too pleased about it.
Percy showed those diesels how to run a railway
He sure did. hopefully they learnt there lesson.
@@penninefilms4714 that will teach them for calling a famous saddle tank engine a nasty little steam engine
This was amazing! I loved it. Can't stop watching!
Thank you, glad your enjoying them. :)
I don't really Understand how Ted got new Coaches but was then scrapped?
The railway manager bought the new coaches to try and keep Ted happy, unfortunately due to Ted's high speeds the passengers didn't want to travel in the line anymore. So the line went bankrupt and closed.
@@penninefilms4714 so Ted's branch line wasn't the one Jim works on then?
0:27-0:30 Pretty much sums up the moral of every HIT Thomas lead role episode.
Haha, yes your right, never realised that before. :)
That’s what happens if you notice any flawed character will be doomed to repeat a certain flaw for the sake of entertainment.
Why were the diesels lazy?
As they are not as hard working as Percy is. :)
That means they are spoiled upon build date.
I feel bad for James.
He's a little boastful at time, so it doesn't hurt to put him in his place.
He didn’t deserve to be at the wrong end of a Diesel promotion video which haunted him forever.
@@penninefilms4714 tell me it haunted him a bit...
Well done again!
Thank you.
What railway was Percy working on? The North Western railway at Vicarstown? Just a little confused. I hadn't seen the yellow diesel shunter before
All the engines are in London for a special exhibition, loosely based on the story book Eight Famous Engines.
@@penninefilms4714 awesome video! I loved it!
Was the Duchess loco called Duchess of Apple? This is a good video by the way
Thank you, the loco is called Duchess of Atholl. :)
Well done
Thank you. :)
Best wishes from Australia. I wonder what happened to Midland and Vincent and whether they were preserved or scrapped? The Fat Controller could've kept both engines for shunting as well as freight trains. That way Gordon, Henry and James would grumble less
I'm not sure what happened to Vincent maybe he was sold to another railway once Thomas arrived, Midland has been stored away somewhere in England, see my follow up episode Midland the Brave Engine.
Do like Christmas .Train look great
Thanks it was something a little different to film.

Thanks for the visit
@@penninefilms4714 i found this episode to be very enjoy able as its one with Trevor the traction engine. i think a traction engine's top speed is around 16 miles a hour while i believe a steam wagon gos about 20 miles a hour. it was nice that they offered to pull the car out of the field. have you ever thought about having a steam car in a future episode?

I always wondered why the N2’s were used as shunters and goods engines in pop culture even thought in real life, they would be unsuitable for the task. All the N2’s were used for hauling suburban passenger trains.
They were only suited for hauling a quad-art set or two because that’s what they are designed for. Also, the back bogie would derail in convoluted shunting yards.
Probably because of the size.
Cool
Thanks.
Loving the intro music, can I ask the soundtrack?
I had one of these sets years ago :) what were these called again?
It's one of the best mini playsets that have ever been made, so much detail in such a small space
