I would recommend being mindful of where the sun is compared to where you are shooting, if its really bright an nd8 to nd16 can help but as you have no control over the video settings it cant be guaranteed, nd filters would work best where you want to fix the iso and shutter and then use them to control the amount of light, the Neo is only a fixed f2.8, so with manual control and using the over exposure display function you could get an idea of the nd filter effects.

I’m worried that if I use an ND filter on the DJI Mini 3 for video shots, the water near the islands (blue sea) will turn out darker instead of looking blue. That’s why I’m hesitating to buy it.”

@@mp4403 it should not darken the water its is just like adjusting the aperture, with the mini 3 as long as you lock the iso and shutter it should be fine, you could also use exposure lock when you start filming to fix the exposure, only affect the nd filters will have on the water is to smooth out the motion of the waves.

@@melvynh1 That’s good to hear! Which filter would you recommend for tropical countries? Mainly for video shots of beaches and the sea. The ND 8, 16, or 32?

@ I would first recommend setting your shutter and ISO to the desired setting and aperture and then using the over exposure setting to see how its looks and only apply an ND filter if its really needed, if you are filming over water and you can get the exposure correct with out an ND filter then a polarising filter would enhance the water shots

@@GiorgiMosiashviliOfficial Hi i use final cut pro, the only color grading was done as an example on the no filter clip, for that I used exposure -32 contrast -15 brightness -34 highlights -30 black point -28 and shadows -22 Everything else in that example clip was default

@@FDiHD yes the Sony looks better but that is to be expected, but when using it outside is just is not practical. The Sony will still be my go to camera for the studios and possibly stationary videos outside but if I need to walk and talk the the Action 5 pro is better.

@@melvynh1I see, whats the plan for the channel, will you focus only on reviewing cameras or you will continue with other tech equipment? Also, on a funny note, did your wife find out about the prices?:))

I would like to be able to review any tech I am interested in and have a passion for, but I have limited it a bit at the moment as the UA-cam algorithm first tests your videos with your subscribers, if I start posting videos they have no interest in it could hurt my views and slow down my channels growth, once I have grown the channel I will diversify, Don’t tell the wife but I just ordered 3 new items from DJI which I will review soon :-).

@@PatrickFeldhusen take a look at the video by Drone Wilder it shows the best scenario to use the ND filters with the Neo.

@@melvynh1 i know the video, i also have a neo and bought also nd filters. try it yourself.

The drone settings are all in automatic mode using palm take off, in this mode you cannot control the camera settings.

One thing to watch out for is how the EIS changes the stability in the video while using the filter, I will be testing this soon.
