I have a question for the panel and gaming for insight. Have you guys heard when the jsaux magnetic controller straps for the Legion Go are coming out. They were supposed to release in June according to the person I spoke with at jsaux, then they were in mass production in June according to another source but still it's radio silence from them.
I love how the x1 mini has 2 usb4 ports plus the oculink. Rather than one usb4 and one oculink. That alone makes the mini that much more attractive. I wouldn't mind switching from the go to the mini (yes I said it) co sideline I have the onexgpu.
I can understand. It is nice to have on the OXP X1 and One X Fly devices the additional ports as that distinguishes them. I use that USB-A port and I am happy I don't need an adapter or dongle.
Admittedly it's one of the best things about the X1 mini! Some on our panel (okay it's just one crazy robot) is convinced the mini has the same display as the Go...

You are leaving performance out of the table, this chip can reach 35-37w there are ways to do that (there are some UA-cam videos that explain how to, so you either do it with the x86UT or with a script.) Technically this can translate to an extra 10% performance boost, so it's substancial, although it might not sound like much, but if you are plugged in and you don't mind you tablet htting 80c temps and that's a good way to boost those games that only hit 54fps stock so they give you 60pfs Also there is a mod for the monitor that allows VRR rnage from 36hr all the way to 165hrz
Thank you for the comment and the post - so both @handheldhardware and myself opened up the V3 48 hours before the show and we at least wanted to give a debut of the device as a live stream. I have watched the video Moors Law is Dead, for example, did on the V3 and I saw that he used Universal x86 utility, which I have used on some of my videos across my channel. I think it can come down to preference as well. We at least wanted to demonstrate that the V3 is great at its 28w mode playing Robo Cop Rogue City. I will have some content coming on the V3 on my channel in the coming time.

Would it be possible to get a benchmark of FFXIV: Dawntrail score? While the game is 10 years old, it does have a graphical update coming and I'm curious to see how this would handle on the Miniforums V3.

AFMF won't work with VSync. If your issue is frames going too high then try a limiter like in RTSS or if the game has a frame limiter built in.
Thank you for your comment. Yes - indeed - that is correct as I saw in the AMD Adrenalin driver too. I should have specified that in my synopsis of troubleshooting the problem and did not convey that. I could have been clearer. Thank you for bringing clarity surrounding that. I did try a frame cap in game and that did not solve the problem, which I at least attempted to explain too during the show. I’m disinclined to think any longer that the frame rate is directly correlated to this issue, but will keep an open mind and I continue to investigate. Feel welcome to share any additional thoughts.
@Gaming_for_insight might be a long shot but maybe try the Ally's driver
@@zbishop90 Thanks for your suggestion. I'm not sure that the Ally driver will work but we'll look into it.
@handheldsunited ya I figure it's a long shot but since ASUS held off on publishing a graphics driver for AFMF it might be more stable for handhelds idk. Idk if you guys used DDU to clear out old drivers but that might help too
@@zbishop90 We did not use DDU before driver installs; however, at least for my instances I did a clean install - even requiring an additional install of Adrenalin. I would need to see if DDU would rectify the issue, but if it did, then this might translate into many people having bought the V3 having to do the same thing and for a machine brand new out of the box that is unnecessary to have to do just to get AFMF working when games that support frame gen in game like Robo Cop Rogue City don't require that potentially unnecessary step. Thanks for helping us think through the issue on this one. We can definitely post back here and give an update on the show too once we take some additional measures and steps like using DDU.

ETA Prime's First Look video a while back showed about 90 FPS on Forza 5 and 60 FPS on Cyberpunk. Basically every other video, and everything with the Claw, has been like half of that for both games. I am legit confused whether his video was doctored or what else could explain this difference!??
Sorry for the late reply. It does seem like that particular title was cherry picked, maybe not by ETA, but perhaps by Intel? Time will tell how much better (or worse?) other titles will be.
@@handheldsunited The Arc .5444 drivers released a day or 2 ago made huge improvements for a lot of users. On my X1 I'm now getting 45 fps Cyberpunk benchmark on 1050p low settings XeSS performance, but more importantly IT STOPPED STUTTERING. This was one of the few games that was truly unplayable at low res/settings, but now it's actually quite nice. This chip will never match the 780m in terms of igpu, but it IS improving and the X1's form factor, plus the OneXGPU, are an extremely unique & compelling package imho. I still can't figure out any explanation for the ETA video though, other than it literally being a lie...

People still keep thinking Handheld gaming *PCs* are consoles. They maybe "console like" but at the end of the day they are still PCS- really need to emphasize that last word. Like desktops, laptops, tablets etc there will be releases nearly every year when Nvidia, AMD and Intel release new chips. Gaming PCs still sell regardless.
