Man, I know exactly what you mean. For 30 years plus I felt like I was always sucking my bosses dick (figuratively) having to ask’s permission for days off, to go to the doctor, when I was sick and needed to stay home, getting yelled at when they were having a bad day. Came to a point where the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze, so I set off on my own. Has its challenges, but no one is my “boss” hate that word / title. People get those titles and go on ego / power trips. Bunch of bullshit! Find a way to free yourself and start enjoying life!

Yeah it does!! my broken phone got me fired from my job of 14 years. Screen took a dump and was trying to retrieve data using software on a company laptop that when scanned by anti virus software got flagged. Well they made a big deal out of it saying software can result in cyber security issues, which was total BS. But I'm okay actually I thought it would hit me badly, but it didn't. I'm lucky to have the support of my wife and the state of California, LOL. At 55, I know it is going to be hard to find the next gig, but the bike is my medicine. I'm starting to appreciate a quick 1 to 1 1/2 ride. I live in Compton, CA so your riding routes are mine as well. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, the Coke idea is a good one for making the wheels stickier so that the brake pads will grab more. One time I had a problem with the rear slik tire on my 66 Coppertone Stingray slipping on the rim. I'd get home from a ride on it and discover that the air valve was crooked, being that the tire was slipping on the wheel due to torque when pedaling. I tried the Coke idea to make the tire stop slipping, but that didn't work, so I got some black silicone and put a film of that on the inside of the rim where the tire seals. That worked fine and the tire hasn't slipped on the wheel since. I've as well come across a bike that had an inner-tube that was too big or rather too long for the wheel because someone tried to make a too large inner-tube work, and it was of course overlapped as well. Nice Trek, bro. I always liked that company. I like you little portable seat that one can just pop into a backpack, too. I wouldn't mind having one of those myself. I've been riding my mountain bike a good bit lately, again, I wish I had you around more, that would definitely help me stay in shape. Sure miss you, Mike. I want to come down to where you are, but finances just aren't good for me right now. Love to ya' bro. Dig your videos, for some reason they relax me. Ha!

I grew up here with a bicycle in this neighborhood. now I am back: not as much flash or fast. the spirit you protray lasts past the time when you arrive at your destination. the good feeling lasts. the benifits are astounding. getting back to it requires the company of good motivatiors. thanks for sharing.

I carry 50’ of para cord, a head lamp, high power flash light, 6” fixed blade knife, foldable razor knife, wet wipes, flint, snake bite kit, 5’x5’ plastic tarp and a 9mm in my bag😁

The more you have the less of a chance you will be walking your bike instead of riding it. I carry extra seat post bolts, power links for chain along with a chain breaker and someone mentioned to always have some black electrical tape also. I have repaired two chains out there on the road for people.

What a cool trip. Its so sad about hot dog on a stick! I was just there when I visited the area earlier this year. I wish they'd just double the prices and stay there.

I like it a lot even though I'm more into a mountain bike with full suspension and street tires on it. Find it more comfy to ride.

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the title of your car, bro. Hope you get everything resolved soon. My $217.00 registration for my 73 Elco is coming up real soon, what an expense and what a hassle. It's expensive enough just affording what the car needs mechanically, etc. I just turned 70 on Aug. 7th, and so next year when my drivers license expires, I'll have to go to the DMV for an eye test and who knows what else.
