The problem with Paul is that he does say things that indicate that we do good works, but he also says you are cursed if you do good works. The latter type of prescriptions negate the former and thereby cause confusion. It is gaslighting, bait and switch, and misdirection. To my mind, it is a form of wizardry and is intentional. He has many of the characteristics of one who might be referred to as a snake. His writings are a kind of seduction. Be good to yourself and jettison him completely. Don't try to harmonize him with the rest of scripture. It plays into his game.
