Just wanted to add one further comment here, something I didn’t think about until just now, that I wish I had when I was recording this. Putting aside the fact that Kate is very likely asexual- the fact that Jack is pretty self-aware, and typically trying to be at least somewhat moral, given the complicated circumstances he’s navigating- the issue of consent kind of becomes a thing, as well. Would you be physically intimate with someone if you knew that they were in fact a serial killer? I know, I know, there’s the obvious joke about white women and serial killers, I’ve made that one on the show myself, but let’s be serious for a second. In reality, that might be a bit of a dealbreaker for many, don’t you think? Probably for Kate, especially. She’s made it very clear that she finds the MIB morally repugnant. We see Jack as an antihero, more than a villain, so we’re very sympathetic to him, and we more or less treat him like he’s a traditional superhero in some ways. And when we’re talking superhero fiction, we don’t typically think of like, Spider-Man potentially violating Mary Jane’s consent if he were to hook up with her without telling her that he’s Spider-Man. But hey, maybe we should, first of all. And second of all, I don’t think I need to explain what the difference is here, right? Jack’s killcount, especially in relation to Kate, specifically, adds a lot of moral weight that might not exist there in more traditional superhero stories. I don’t know, consent is complicated, and I don’t have all the answers when it comes to this, because this is kind of a weird situation. But I just thought it was interesting to offer up for contemplation!

The emotion of it all, a more subdued episode that really tugs on the heart strings... the writing and acting here is some of the best, and it just keeps getting better and better. The ending hits just right. This series in a whole is truly something special, thank you for taking me on this journey. Also being killed by Wyatt is a highlight of my career.
