I gave up on trying to find my shutoff valve, i gave up & just came outside & shut it off at the street 😂. Hopefully on your houses you can do the same. Main shut off valve in the front yard, under a little flip access panel

0:57 There's a valve to the lower left of the one you're pointing at that looks like it branches off of the main prior to the handle you're pointing at. What's that one for since it should still be getting pressure regardless of the one you're pointing at being shut off.

You could try turning one closed and see what gets turned off.

Thank you for all of the planning and hard work to make race day seamless and perfect. This was my 3rd time at this venue. It doesn't get any better! The volunteers were kingmd, helpful and cheerful. There were plenty of potties and an abundance pre race hydration/ nutrition. The start was efficient and smooth. Bouys and water craft were sufficient. Water exit was clear and the path way clear. Thanks to all who made the first leg of the race AWESOME!!

It is Honestly hard work raising utilities , I'm not sure we can use the innertube and all concrete instead of concrete risers in wa. But I like that mechanism used for lifting and setting it in place, that looks very useful . (we just manually do it by hand and its somewhat clumsy and quite difficult ) thanks for the tips!

Good point! Different buildings and homes will have a different setup for their main water shutoff. We provided just two examples that were available for us to film.

It wasn’t a waste at all…It’s obviously no guarantee that every single home is the same, but it gives me ideas on where to look for the likely source of my water supply cut-off valve.
All new homes have it located always close to the main water tank. With older homes sometimes it leaves you guessing but just follow the pipe often times to another room it will be there somewhere. I've had rental properties I purchased with water shutoffs in the adjoined building so there's no standard where it will be.

Can you cut off both
Crazy to find this valve . I had a broken pipe and I cut the water supply by the curb. I have the right tool. I did not even waste time looking for that valve as I would have lost precious minutes. Now I know where it is......and I am surprised it is in the attic. I had lots of suggestions from people but was told it would not be in the attic as it is against code. That guy is not a plumber !!!!!! My water heater is in the attic, next to my HVAC.

Another trick to find your water shut off valve's location in your house is to first find your water meter lid in your yard. Then, follow the line straight from that water meter to your house. That should be where the water enters your house. It's not always the shortest line possible, but it will provide you a starting point. Then, you can start the search inside your home from that point.
@@RedLeader182The house I recently bought in Louisiana built in 2016 doesn't have a water main shut off valve in the house or in the garage. Only in the front yard. I am having my plumber install one in the garage behind the laundry room where the water comes into the house.
