This is a great idea for shop work where you have multiple components with the same dimension but not in the field

Great in theory until you start working with more then one manufacture of pipe and fittings. All manufactures have some variance in their product. Like 90 degree fittings that are not a true 90. How about if your working on 12" on up most of the time but you want to do 60" one day or any other larger bore pipe? That system you have is fine for the small stuff but it's not really suited to real world applications.

Good for a shop. But out in the field I thing we'd have to stay with the old system . Pipe stands and a set of flange pins.

I'm a retired UA 342 Welder....We can't buy or bring any tools on the job....I've had no problem fitting this kind of Pipe with just a few V blocks and some Flange Pins or a Vise and Jack Stands.....I sure this Contraption works fine but I wouldn't buy one.
