Just next time wash your meats and your beans you suppose to sort through your beans cause sometimes there are Little Rock’s and dirt in the beans and you suppose to pick out the bad beans from the good ones
Yes ma’am we got a lot of heat for not washing the beans!! @crystalglaze7882 thank you for watching and commenting! Let me know how you like the recipe
I just left a comment for your red beans. I'm originally from Lafayette. Ironically enough, I have my own hot dog business, Rollie's Hot Diggity Dogs! I love how y'all did the smash dogs! And I love the Marty burger recipe! I have a butter wheel for my grill, and I butter my buns for all my customers!
The smash dogs are a Fire Department favorite!! Let me know when you add them to the menu! I’ll make a trip to Metairie!!
Thank you for this video! I'm from New Orleans, Metairie, and I usually make Blue Runner. Y'all inspire me to make Camellia and gave me some extra tips here.
Awesome @rollierabin please let me know how that comes out when you try it!! And thank you so much for watching!!
My momma use to make this all the time, and I absolutely love it... I tried to replicate it, but I can't do it. She passed 3 years ago, I did everything she did. But I guess she put her love in it. Ain't nothing like mommas cooking. Louisiana born
Yes ma’am I agree with you @amberunderwood8170 try this recipe hopefully it can come close to your moms and you can tweak it like you want!
What's wrong with this dude? Psychovybes, needs to be spanked
All that browning and he throws bell pepper in w his onion!
lol that’s what makes it taste the best @jetjet642 thanks for watching
They don’t wash the meat or the beans off? What about the rice? Oh nooo! 😮👀🙄
lol we caught a lot of flavor for that! Thanks for watching though
Please do not cuss, children cuss.
Amen!
Actually, you should have 2 cutting boards, one for the meat and the other one for the veggies
I agree with you @lupevela5463 and thank you for watching
I love grits so I’m trying that don’t you know!😋😊❤️
Be careful @Tealilly1777 those grits are additive! lol please let me know how you like them!!
I must say, “salt&pepperv sure is good together”. I enjoyed watching y’all cook, it made me join the team. Even though he didn’t pick and wash those beans. 😊😋❤️
Well thank you very much @Tealilly1777 and welcome to the team!! We love having you! We caught so much heat for not washing and picking through the beans! But that’s ok they turned out awesome! Thanks for watching, commenting and joining the channel
Great looking salmon and backdrop. Left the Navy in 93 as well.
Thank you @wayneterryjr.1560 what ship were you on?
How long did the pork steaks cook down after adding the water?
About an hour @undergroundhead5 but you should cook it till the meat is tender!!
Great episode. Marina was a great addition as well. Much prettier than that guy who was doing all talking. Good luck Marina, you'll make an excellent PA.
lol I agree with you 100% @Stradioti thank you for watching! Trying to get her back to do another show!
Where is the Trinity? Garlic?
I don’t put it in my smothered cabbage!
@@captaincobyscajuncooking6144 That is what is fun about cooking! I’m not being the food police! Just expressing my opinion! ( But you try at least garlic! It’s such an amazing ingredient! 😘)
@@melvinatkins998 I will try it!! And I’ll let you know what I think!!!
I love cabbage! This one is always on my list of Capt. Coby regular meal preparations. Great video, as always. Thanks!
My pleasure brother!!
Hey captain coby help a brother please. What size cast iron pot do i need for a 2lb jambalya the only cast iron pot i have is mamas old cast iron pot that could feed the whole chauvin community
I have a 16 quart pot I use for my Jambalaya! It’s not small but it holds 4lbs Boston Butt 1lb smoked sausage and 1lb Tasso that’s the smallest one I make! I hope that helps! Good luck
@@captaincobyscajuncooking6144 you da man brother I couldn't see using a gigantic pot to make a 2lb jambalya I think that would be a little bit of overkill 😂 😂
@@captaincobyscajuncooking6144 Is your website down I was gonna order some of your seasoning and it said the website had expired.
@@soonerlegendspodcast it’s up me and go daddy had some problems but we got them resolved
Where is the bell pepper? Celery? Garlic? And adding them raw to dem meatballs? You sauté those vegetables first! My maw maw just turned over in her grave! Where is da bay leaf? Jarred roux is ok! But you crumble it first! You don’t spoon dat in the pot! You add crumbled jarred roux, Cher! 6.5! 😘
I put onions and belle pepper and garlic in my meatballs @melvinatkins998 but Quinton like only onions! Just a different way of cooking it!! It still came out awesome! Thanks for watching and responding!
Gotta have the green onion/scallions for the rice. Looks so good my mouth is watering !! Haven't made it in long time myself. I mash some of the bean in the pot before serving. If they're tender enough, a few ridged stirs will break 'em down. 👍👍👍🧑🚒🍲🍺🪗🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
lol I do that with my white beans and baby Limas @muggshot24! Thanks for watching
I let mine foam up 10 times so it can come together and that takes about a hour i believe the foaming does something
lol me too! mine foams up all the time usually because I put the lid on it with out thinking!! I’ll see yall next week!!
I dont ever put nothing but dark meat in my gumbo unless someone else is comming to supper that likes white meat
Dark meat is the best by far!!
From the south, now living in Maryland. Just loved the actual accents. Miss that sometimes. Love it when folks make cooking fun and community.
Thank you @vgaitersburg9547 glad we could bring a little south back into your life! lol thanks for watching
Impressive

Thank you @Powerlift225 we have a good time making these videos! You gotta season your food or you just don’t get that flavor!! Thank you for subscribing and welcome to the Family!
Going to try to be nice but a lil offended because you representing Louisiana cooking. So will keep to just 3 things offensive. Mustard really. Lobster base not shrimp stock and smashed up okra I love okra but that was aweful you from Louisiana do you not know the secret to not mashing up okra like that and eliminating slime in seconds.
Thank you for watching

Bet you know Raintree Trail. My first summer job was the gas station that all the crawfish fishermen came to get ready for the day. I could walk there. My first boudin ever. Yellow mustard. My first love in Louisiana.
Still live a half a mile from Raintree Trail!!! And you probably worked at Pats Grocery!

Seems every Cajun has a pot like the one you cooked your roux in. Know where I can find one? BTW! That roux looks ready to rock and roll.
Thank you @timothyogden9761 I get all my cooking gear at Gary Matte hardware in Rayne Louisiana!!
I absolutely loved this. I'd love to spend about six months to a year and learn all about real creole and cajun cooking from the locals... I think it would blow the south Appalachian minds around here.
I do try and make it as easy as possible to try and follow the videos! I know it’s a lot harder to do it that way! But you would love cooking down here! Cooking here is like a giant paryy
Hey Capt. What is that word cajuns use for the left over bits in the bottom of the pot?? Sounds like Greenies?? I can never make it out... Thanks !
