good question. my understanding when researching was that despite doctor anderson's appearance cyberon was not canon to doctor who, though i admit it's hard to tell what is and what isn't particularly when bill baggs was so lassie when it came to licensing.

the bbc don't own those spin-off's during the wilderness years those were all independent works, there have been two other independent spin-offs since, the white which of devils end and sil and the devil seeds of arodor both of which i've reviewed.

i didn't bother with those because as i understand those show's are there own thing and i only deal with show's that are connected to the main doctor who universe (although i have heard that zygon i supposed to be a sequel to cyberon so i don't know where to go with cyberon). however i do have do you have a licence to save this planet.

Ok, I can understand where you've devised your internal logic in this regard. However, I would argue for an exception especially in reference to the Stranger. It is such an historic series, being the first BBV or spin-off featuring Doctor Who actors and clearly being modeled on the show. Being the first set of productions after the cancellation. Colin Baker's 'Stranger' character and Nicola Bryant's "Mrs. Brown' character are close enough to the 6th Doctor and Peri and ambiguous enough for there to be no way to rule them out as the Doctor and Peri especially through the first 3 videos of the Stranger. - Summoned by Shadows, More than a Messiah and In Memory Alone. The last 3 videos would be problematic as the Stranger becomes a central character in some sort of intra-dimensional battle between 'Preceptors' and 'Protectorates' but even this is done in a manner that is ambiguous enough and the character seems to be someone struggling against a sort of amnesia, the Stranger having been introduced in video one as living as a spiritual hermit just as the Doctor did or promised to do in twin dilemma. There are many loose ends with the sixth doctor and both of his companions Peri and Mel. He met Mel or rather we met Mel out of order and Peri apparently did not die on Thoros Beta, perhaps the Doctor reversed the personal time tangling that the Valeyard and the Council put him through, came back to Thoros and picked Peri up and put himself through the spiritual hermitage and meditative period because of all that had occurred. Perhaps the preceptors and the protectorate are a sort of civil war amongst Gallifreyans/Time Lords. There is enough ambiguity and it is such an obvious reference to everything about that period of the series that I have to think of it as part of or a definite continuation of the sixth doctor's story.

if you are still looking for them, you can buy them from Bill Baggs himself. The BBV Productions youtube channel has them, though being 2 years ago you probably got them by now I presume.

@@LicencetoWho i actually still haven't found them on DVD. i've seen them, but i never figured out where to buy the dvds to add to my collection. i've got everything from mindgame to downtime to the entire PROBE series

@@neomp5 basically what I did was buy them from Bill Baggs himself, I emailed him and he told me the prices for the films 10 each and 5 postage. And thats how I got the PROBE films, only did it recently too. billbaggs@hotmail.com, I used paypal.

when the show comes back in October i'll be doing my commentary then, until then i sometimes contribute to the omega files on doctor freedom's channel.

it cut's constantly between her talking to the camera (a ghost) and flashback's. that's why it did so well without special effect's it was mostly done in POV shot's which made it simple and story driven so no need for big special effects.

I have not watched When to Die either and me being quite a big PROBE fan, I decided not to watch it mainly because I feel PROBE should have continued after 1996 and if not on video at least on audio like The Stranger series before hand. Bringing it back 9 years after Ghosts of Winterborne was a mistake honestly, and with all the cast being completely changed one for obvious reasons, I don't think its worth it, a novel would have been a lot better as you don't need actors for it and without Caroline John and Louise Jameson PROBE can never be the same at least for me.

and i've noticed that you've done what i was trying to avoid with my list which was you've used all episodes form new who and none from classic who. i tried to include classic who because i have a bias towards the classic who, but then again i wasn't alive when that was on tv, when i did see it i pretty much saw it in one go, if i was alive at the time i probably would have had a different attitude.

Well, I'm younger than you are, and I think that the classic series is infinitely better than the new; that doesn't mean I think every classic story is brilliant, but the worst of the new series is WAY worse than the worst of the old.

i'm aware of those but never bothered to buy or watch them since there not direct spin-off's, that's the same reason i've never watched cyberon as i understand that's not a direct spin-off either, which confuses me as i've heard that zygon when being you is not enough is a sequel, i just don't know and i'd like some clarification there.

It's pretty clear calling the drug "Cyberon" and leaving the aliens behind it nameless was Bill Baggs' attempt to get around having to ask (and pay) for the rights to the Cybermen. Hence it's really up to the viewer to decide if they want it to be a direct spin-off or not. Ditto for the "Human" in Mindgame, which was clearly meant to be Ace but Reeltime skirted around her identity just enough to avoid getting a grumpy letter from the BBC's lawyers. If you want "Human" to be Ace then so be it.

They actually made cyberon cannon in doctor who audio and aswelll as in p.r.o.b.e and it's basically because they couldn't use the cyberman but now both are in universe
