I have the Hod Rod (bought new) and the volume at 1 and 2 is insanly LOUD. From 2 to 10 makes little difference, just a fraction extra insanety. The OD channel broke very soon and has now broke again. I think this amp is to heavy and to vurnable to transport. For home practice not suitible. It is a shame because the clean sound is nice. I was a beginner en just bought it for the brand and because it had tubes.
Try a Fender Deluxe Tone Master. That is what I am using these days and it solves all the issues of dealing with tube amps. I still love my Deville but for gigs the tone master is way more convenient.
Hi Adam, i am 4 weeks post op. Neurectomy of morton neuroma left foot. They went in from the top of foot. Did you ever experience the feeling of a hard lump under your foot near the area where the neuroma was removed? The pad of my foot feels so tight and hard compared to my good foot.
I did have the feeling of a ball under my foot before surgery, but after surgery it was gone. I hope your recovery goes well.

How are you feeling 5 years later? Did a podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon perform the surgery?
Orthopedic Surgeon. I am feeling great these days! I am a heavy hiker, I average about 10K steps a day. I am very conscious about proper footwear because I have extra wide feet. And it is not easy to find shoes that carry extra wide, but I finally found a few companies that do that work for me. I think my foot issue was likely caused from wearing shoes that were not wide enough.
@@adamscastle6222 That's great to hear. I believe my MN was caused by the same issue. I recently purchased wide shoes from Samual Hubbard and they have been working pretty well. What brands have worked for you?
Fuckin load of crap!! ROCK ON
I had suergey about 3 weeks ago . I still wear a walking boot do you suggest I start wearing a shoe?
You should wait till you get out of your boot first. Hang in there. Hope the surgery went well.
Hey Adam I’m thinking about getting surgery because the injections are not working . I play soccer and it’s very painful my doctor said that’s the last option but will it help me out long term ?
Injections offer temporary relief but they do not correct the issue. I had one injection and it lasted a few weeks. Then the pain came back even worse. This is when I knew I needed the surgery because nothing else was working. For me the surgery was worth it because I could not stand the pain any longer. I hike alot, like 5 miles a day. And I'm so happy to be back on my feet without pain. I hope the best for you.
The Waitress at 4:06. Perfect. If we ever make a music video we need to hire her.
I was chilling in the shallow end of the pool, then that YEAH made me cannonball in the deep end. Great job man, subscribed!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Adam! Hope you are doing well! I just watched a few of your videos on your surgery(s) for Cubital Tunnel. I too am a guitar player and I am scheduled in about a week to get an Ulnar Nerve Transposition... I am very happy because it seems to be a solution vs trying at home remedies that have not worked for me (They have helped but have not fully fixed the issue.) So my main question is... do you have any advice on avoiding other future nerves problems (Cubital Tunnel Syndrome in left arm and Carpel Tunnel Syndrome...etc). I am a 20 years old and I would love to make music my profession one day... and nerve related issues and the thought of not being able to play because of it really stresses me out. I'm a big Dead head too by the way! Super cool waterfalls too! Thank you for taking the time to read.
Hey thanks for the reply! Are you getting the cubital surgery on one arm? I don’t know how to avoid future nerve surgeries. I’ve had five nerve surgeries total. You could say it’s getting on my nerves! But if you have a nerve issue somewhere that doesn’t always mean you will have more nerve issues. Just see your doctor once a year and have them keep an eye on things. That said, my surgeries were all successful. And most people have the same success especially when it’s caught early. For those who prolong the surgery, it gets more risky. You will be happy when your surgery and recovery is over. I’m glad that you liked my videos!
@@adamscastle6222 Okay, thank you very much for the response…. To answer your question I am getting it done on my left arm (Fretting side). My doctor basically said the same thing as you in that it’s better to have it done before there is permanent damage. I was curious to see if your Doctor had any reasons to why you have had multiple nerve problems (anatomy, specific activities…etc)
@@johnjobin7694 There isn't any clear reason why some people have more nerve issues than others. If guitar playing caused carpal or cubital tunnel, then every guitarists would have those disorders. But that is not the case. My suggestion is to not to overthink the future. You may never have a nerve issue again. And if you do, you can get it addressed quickly. Either way it won't stop you from pursuing your goals.
How are you feeling now? I had surgery for mortons about one month ago.
I am much better these days. I am hiking alot. I just did a 12 mile hike in the Dolly Sods WV, but that is close to my limit. You can gradually increase activity as time passes. Your foot will let you know if it’s too much. Just set some small goals. Take some small walks. Do some light stretching. Main thing is to use it regularly so you can regain strength and range of motion without pain. It takes time so be patient and don’t let a setback keep you down.
Hi. Thanks for sharing. I had Mortons Nueroma surgery 3 weeks ago but it still feels the same. Same pain. What should I expect?
Sorry it took me a while to reply. Are you doing better now? It takes longer for the nerve to heal than it does for the skin and muscle. The recovery period is tough, but it does get better over time. Hang in there!
@adamscastle6222 thanks Adam! It's a been about 7 weeks. Making some slow progress. Back to wearing normal shoes. A little tightness, a bit achy, some numbers mainly. No limping, which is nice. Hoping you are ok!
@@michaelreisman5695 Glad to hear that there is some improvement. Its a slow process at first, but getting back into normal shoes again is a big step. I am doing well, I just did a 12 mile hike in the Dolly Sods Wilderness, WV and it went really well.

@@adamscastle6222hi,how's it now,is surgery a good option ? As I have seen people saying that neuroma builds back.😢
@@akkuverma2328 Surgery was a good option for me. I do a lot of hiking, almost 5 miles a day. And I have not had any issues.

@@pzazzera you would expect some pain in the area where the surgery was, it’s probably still healing. It takes a while to heal because the nerves were cut, and nerves are unpredictable. I've had Morton's Neuroma for 5 years now. I tried foot exercises, physio therapy with ultrasound and an anti inflammatory gel. Nothing worked. I'm considering the surgery but I'm too big of a pussy for now because of all the bad comments I've read that it might get even worse from the surgery. I don't know what to do.
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you tried all of the conservative treatments already. I am sure some people had bad experiences with the surgery. But their experience is not going to be yours, each situation is unique. I will say the longer a person who needs surgery puts off, the worse the neuroma will get. I suggest talking with a good orthopedic surgeon (not a podiatrist) and discuss your options before making a decision. I'm not saying having surgery is an easy decision or that you need it. But if your doctor says you need it then your options are deal with the pain or have the surgery. For me the pain was too much and I opted for the surgery. Again, every situation is unique, talk with your doc. Hang in there.
@@adamscastle6222 Thank you so much for you kind words. I will talk with a orthopedic surgeon. This problem changed my life in a very negative way, For example, in the past I used to jump on rope almost every day. Currently, I don't do it because the nerve begins to hurt. Sometimes even just from walking a few minutes it starts to hurt like hell. Is your pain completely gone now and do you have any negative side effects, besides the numbness on the toes, years later?
@@georgizagorchev9655 I had the most issues with my neuroma when I tried to fall asleep. That is why it became intolerable for me. Anything that disturbs my sleep is a big issue that needs to be fixed. I hike a lot, about 20 miles a week. I have had no issues with nerve pain when hiking or sleeping. For me, the surgery worked well. Surgery is not an instant fix because it takes a while to heal. But it was worth the several months of recovery time since things gradually and steadily improved.
@@adamscastle6222what kind of surgery did you get if you don't mind me asking? Also can you continue to hike normally after? Thanks !

I’m a guitarist with numbness in my pinky & ring finger, left hand. I had Cubital Tunnel surgery 2 months ago and there is NO improvement. Immediately after the surgery, the doctor said . . . “I didn’t have to do anything!”! I think I got screwed!
Sorry to hear that. Did you have the release only or the transposition surgery? Also it takes a while for nerves to heal. Your healing time will depend on how much your nerve was damaged prior to the surgery. Hang in there.
@@adamscastle6222 my surgeon stated that she didn’t have to reposition the nerve. She mentioned that she did “something” with the tissue surrounding the nerve. After the anesthesia & nerve block wore off, I felt no pain whatsoever at the incision at the elbow. I can play guitar, but my left hand “pinky” feels like I’m wearing a surgical glove. The surgeon/doctor says that sensitivity tests have revealed improvement. But I certainly can’t notice it.
Sounds great mate.
I’m having this surgery in 6 days. Have the little nerve pains stopped?
It takes a while but yes things have improved a lot. If I had to do it over I would probably do a little more stretching and exercise sooner in the recovery process. But that will vary for each individual. Hang in there!

Hi Adam. Thanks for the series of videos. I developed morton's neuroma last Thanksgiving. I just had a endoscopic cervical foraminotomy just 2 months before. I have neuromas in both feet. My pinky finger and ring finger and numb and tingling for the past 4 days. Have you tried PT or Chiropractor?
I was in a rear end car accident in January 2020. From that car accident I had pain in my right wrist right away. I was going to PT until the beginning of March when COVID was getting bad. Around August/September 2020 I got new symptoms which was numbness and tingling in my pinky and ring finger. Originally I was just seeing a general orthopedic doctor. My sister who is a doctor suggested I looked for a wrist specialist doctor. I tried all of the conservative methods first. PT, prescriptions, wearing a brace, cortisone injection, but nothing was helping with the pain. So on December 1st 2020 I got TFCC repair, debridement and Cubital Tunnel Release. The Cubital Tunnel Release was supposed to help with the numbness and tingling symptoms. Recovery was discouraging at the beginning for me, but eventually recovery was starting to look up, unfortunately I randomly hit a bump in my recovery. My wrist started hurting more again and now bending my elbow was causing pain and irritation which wasn’t happening before. In October I had a follow up and we did another cortisone injection into my wrist. I hit the 1 year mark in the beginning of this month. Last Thursday December 9th I had my follow up appointment. The cortisone injection was basically being used for diagnostic testing. Unfortunately the cortisone injection provided me no relief. The doctor told me that since the cortisone injection provided me with no relief then the cause of my symptoms are probably caused by my elbow nerve. He did say that the next step would be to transport the ulnar nerve to another area in the muscle so it’s not in the elbow. He did say that this surgery is normally standard procedure. Though we also have to keep in mind that the cubital tunnel release didn’t help me with my symptoms so apparently that is rare. I am scared of getting another surgery and it wind up not being successful or worth it. I do want to feel better and I would like my right arm to feel like itself again. I haven’t officially scheduled my surgery yet, but my doctor did advise me that I shouldn’t leave it past February/March.
Sorry to hear this. Sounds like you had the CT decompression surgery but not the transposition. If your doc says the transposition is worth it then I would seriously consider it. If your ulnar nerve is in a bad spot then it could be rubbing against the Elbow bone. A decompression doesn’t fix this. Nerves can only take so much damage so the sooner it gets corrected the better. The transposition surgery moves the ulnar nerve away from the bone and then it gets attached to the muscle which is soft tissue. That puts the nerve out of danger and a chance to heal. Hang in there.
How's the guitar playing going now? Any issues? All the best
Thanks for making these videos. I'm day 10 after surgery and the area where my neuroma was is really stinging and swelling, I could swear another neuroma took it's place. Additionally, other nerves in my foot are periodically shooting with pain, there's periodic pain and burning in the boarding toes, and I'm going a crazy from all laying about. My surgeon set my exceptions too optimistically and I started reading stuff online that freaked me out. So thank you for sharing your experience!

I am having this surgery on the 25th of October and I'm worrying if there is a brace that they put you in after the sling or if you go from a sling to normal elbow motion.

Thanks for posting this. I'm going through this right now and it's really killing my practice. How painful was the arm after the nerve block ran off?
Pain wasn’t too bad. If you end up using pain meds then you want to start them before the block wears off. Actually the most challenging part is being in the splint for two weeks. It’s very limiting. But it’s worth it because it did fix my nerve pain.

Sorry to hear that your CT has become so advanced. Glad my videos helped. Please let me know how your recovery goes. But be patient. It may take a while because everyone heals differently.

Things are a lot better. My recovery went very well. I am certain that I needed these surgeries and I am glad they are behind me. It does take a while before you can lift heavy objects. But I do recommend this surgery if your doc says you need it. Let me know if you have any other questions.
How soon could you walk with a boot after the surgery
It takes at least 2 weeks before they take off all of the bandages. Then maybe a week or two more and you can start to wear shoes. At first you will want to wear the widest and most comfortable shoes you can get. Over time you can start to wear other footwear like dress shoes or boots.

Outstanding series of recovery interval videos by Adam with great advice. Oftentimes people only see negative postings about neuroma excision surgery and it scares many who could really benefit from having it performed. Videos/postings by people who have actually undergone the operation really provide excellent recovery advice and recommendations/tips that sometimes the doctor/surgeon really can't or doesn't provide since they haven't gone through the procedure themselves. Great job Adam!
I am glad that you enjoyed the videos! Furthermore, I worry about folks who need this surgery (or any other surgery) yet they put it off which only increases recovery time and complications. For those who complain about their surgeries it is often the case (not every case) that they simply waited too long. People do need and should hear the success stories too!
what kind of transposition you had?
I do not really know, they moved the ulnar nerve and connected it to muscle in the it's new place.
