A new place which I’ve become actually obsessed with is Pizza Cult in Ubud. Amazing food, great service, such a cute venue and really affordable. Also a great place to bring your laptop and work from!

The fire is tragic for all those Balinese sellers- not just souvenirs but also daily needs such as fresh food and material for offerings (in the basement)- the other art market burned down in 2016, then they built these beautiful buildings from 2021-2023 and now that has been damaged as well. Let's hope there are no victims and everything can be repaired.

I fly business class a lot and this time chose to fly SFO to DOHA to MUM in March this year in the Q Suite configuration - TBH it was inconsistent with lack of attention to details - was given champagne on boarding and FA came by 5 mins later asking for my glass - booked our meals in advance but they said they ran out - hand towels never got cleared and started to pile up in the suite table - mid meal glasses never got cleared so end of meal I had six empty glasses sitting at my table - the “order your meal anytime” service turned up being a “we will serve you courses at three hour intervals over the 18 hour flight” - the light meals I was informed you can only order 1 per flying segment - forgot to serve me dinner outbound and forgot to serve me and my traveling partner breakfast in bound - really strange - it was hit or miss inflight across the board- coz food was splendid - the Q Suite product incredible - the lounges (food, comfort, service) and the ground crew were excellent - but given the price tag (I paid $6k pp for two - me and my traveling partner) and the rave reviews - my take was inconsistent service and lack of attention to detail. Crew seemed either overwhelmed or not organized or not in sync. We remained calm and polite through out but felt underwhelmed. Despite putting my Alaska Air mileage # at time of booking and confirming at check in, end of trip, never got miles and finally Alaska Air was able to get Qatar to reply and confirm last week to finally confirm my miles. Overall experience was “OK” - more of a “get the basics right at the bare minimum”. For that price I’ll stick to Emirates / Lufthansa / Air France / Singapore Air / United (if I have no choice) - may not be as opulent as Qatar but they are consistent and get the details right and are on point from booking to post trip.

I expect it to fall into disrepair in a few years as stores close down from a lack of customer base. That is, unless a bunch of hotels start rebuilding there. In which case, Sanur is lost. Will spend my $$$ in Thailand or Europe instead.

Went there yesterday. It's cool to sit on the beach sand after you get tired exploring the mall❤ The paradox of future vs nature in Bali gave me a mixed feeling though. Anyways, the theatre is cool too! They provide a lounge for premiere class. I wish IMAX was already open by the time OppenHeimer got to Bali😂 Hopelly, Icon will also have a 3D theatre soon! Watcing Upside Down the movie with no 3D is sadness, not joy😢
