Give me my coach back ‼️
When would you like me to return it to you
While I do like the Mk. 3 coaches, I like the Mk. 1 coaches more. I know I'm against stinky diesels, but at one time, the Virgin Mk. 3 coaches were not just part of a HST formation. A Class 47 with matching livery would haul them sometimes, if I remember right.
Your correct, 47 hauled trains would consist of MK3s then the job was handed over to 90s and 91s with the MK4s
Enjoyed the review, great locomotive, I like the streamlined version. but the rebuilt ones are growing on me. They were built for the main lines to the southwest of the Southern Railway (Later Southern Region of BR), famously the Bournemouth Belle. The Light Pacific (Battle of Britain and West Country Classes) locomotives were built to permit use on a wider variety of routes, including the south-west of England and the Kent coast. They were a mixed-traffic design, being equally adept at hauling passenger and freight trains, e.g. the post WW2 Devon Belle ....Drew
Thank you for the information
I was gonna go there today
Nice, Tamworth is a great trainspotting location
I think I might have seen you on the railcam lol 😂
You may have done so
Better than driving a stinky diesel, wouldn't you agree?
I would certainly rather a steam locomotive than a diesel locomotive, this was an incredible experience
I wonder what's happening with these drags. 465915 and 465920 were already dragged. I wonder if any more will be dragged.
I think more will be taken down to Ely for storage
@@samuelslocos They were already stored at Worksop, so I wonder why they are going to Ely? 465912 was repaired there a while ago so idk.
@@SolomonClarkeTrains-nw1sf Maybe to create space at Workshop possibly
@@samuelslocos Probably.
Great video Sam 👍
Thank you
Good to see some steamies. You would have done a lot better to capture heritage railway Santa Specials, no main line action, which has by now wound down for routine maintenance to be carried out. Diesels hardly ever run in Wintertime, so those 66s should have been in bed. Next time you create a compilation like this, whittle it down to a few steam engine highlights, 5 minutes long. It shouldn't last nearly half an hour.
I understand, that's a good idea, speaking of heritage lines on Friday I will be doing a driver experience at the NVR.
You're very close, when BR produced the Air-con mk2 coaches they were going to class them as mk3 coaches but due to the fact they were still based on the mk2 design they were sub classed as a continuation of mk2. Mk3/4/5 being of completely different designs.
Thanks for the info
Hi Samuel. You migh have got the coaches wrong, I would probably have done the same. But it doesn't detract from how nice they are. Thank you for the review. Have a great new year 🍾🍾 Thumbs up thumped 👍 .... Pete....
I was told these were MK3s at the time of filming but didn't realise that they were MK2s until after I made and posted the video, you have a fantastic new year too
Is that Biffa class 66 owned by them?
It is owned by GBRf but sponsored by Biffa
@ thanks
These are in fact MK2 Coaches, more specfically mk2f's. They are not related to mk3s in anyway.
Are they now, obviously the person that my friend bought them from thought they were MK3s and not MK2s, thanks for the info
Very efficient with loads of containers onboard
A lot of deliveries to made 😂
cool!
Thanks, first one I have seen with a name plate I think
Nice catch!
Thank you
😎
I need Percy and Toby to go with my Hornby Thomas
Good locos to collect
Percy is just as bad as Thomas for being cheeky. However, the two are best friends deep down inside. Merry Christmas.
Definitely, two best friends together at last.
Nice locomotive! As a Percy, it looks just a bit long, doesn't it?
Yeah it does look a little too long, will have to look at the original Percy to see what is different
Was this recorded on a phone ? Great vid but poor sound quality
Yes this was recorded on a phone
Great review 👍
Thanks! 👍
Mk. 3 coaches won't ever be seen in my collection, but I do have the smaller Mk. 1s. How about purchasing some BR Chocolate & Cream Mk. 1 coaches, and a Great Western Manor engine to match? Santa Special time. Merry Christmas.
A Manor class is certainly on my collection list, some more MK1's will do nicely especially in that chocolate and cream livery, Merry Christmas to you too.
Put in a Video Description maybe?
Ok, I will do that a D for future videos
Deutschebahn in Bedford Op sea lion ist hier!
That would be DB Cargo Uk
Great video 👍
Thanks 👍
Diesels should be neither seen nor heard, lol. Merry Christmas.
Fair enough, although this was neither a steam or diesel gala so basically both of them merged together, idea from the Great Central Railway
Good captures. Thanks for posting.
Your welcome
The only engine worth watching is Bobby the Black 5. I'd like to see a Best of Trainspotting video that includes steam engines only. No stinky diesels in sight, except with steam railtour trains.
I can do a compilation of steam
Ever thought of balancing a small camera on top of the footbridge? You get the best panoramic views from both sides. Please keep running sessions to 2 or 3 minutes long, otherwise you might witness me falling asleep in the middle, lol. I don't like the big LNER tank engines very much, I prefer something smaller like the J72 and J94 tank engines, plus the Hunslets. Merry Christmas, and let's change the intro tune (with one scene only) to Jingle Bells.
Running sessions are normally about 5 minutes generally but these gala videos will be longer just like a heritage railway gala with a busy timetable, I can certainly change my intro for Christmas make it more jolly for this time of year, the footbridge shot I can certainly bring that back, what do you think of the LNER J50 as another to add to your list
Bro nice layout
Thanks!
Beautiful coach! Interesting review. New subscriber 🙋♂️
Thank you, I do love the GWR especially in that livery, goes really well with the 14xx
Very nice 🚂
@@BaltimoreAndOhioRR Thanks
A tank engine and her goods train stop at the station for a few minutes. She reverses with the train, and then takes it on to the loop out of the way. Two faster passenger services pass by, one at a time. The tank engine then gets the right of way and she and her goods train continue on their journey. Or, if the train is to retrace its previous path, the engine shunts back into the platform and runs round. The train is taken away. Normal timetable operations then resume. That's the way it happens on a preserved railway, in real life. Nice selection of steamies. Glad to see there were no stinky diesels around this time.
I am glad that I brought back these gala videos and that you enjoy them, did you get to see your request on Sam's Trains Live in the end?
@@samuelslocos Yes, a day late. I had to copy it. It was hilariously funny to hear Sam screaming in a higher-pitched voice than normal, as he quickly hid under the table. He sounded like a girl, more than himself. I've created a small compilation video: Bookcase Troubles. I'll upload it this Sunday, so you can see what happened rather than me explaining what happened. I always enjoy your steam gala videos. Can you create a different special event, like Day Out With Thomas? Thomas the Tank Engine runs with Annie and Clarabel. Two other steamies of your choice strut their stuff alongside him. Thomas, we love you.
@kellyashfordtrains2642 It was certainly entraining, can't wait for what is installed for this Friday's live steam. A day out with Thomas is certainly something that I can do and a great idea.
Great running session. Is that an Airfix 14XX?
Thanks, yes that is an Airfix 14xx
@samuelslocos I have a Hornby 14XX, but I plan on getting more, including the Airfix one.
@@christopherbellamy639 Good locos the Airfix 14xx, which livery would you get
@@samuelslocos GWR livery. I also plan to renumber one of the 14XX models 1436 as Oliver had this number in the Railway Series books
@samuelslocos Some people don't like the Airfix/Dapol/Hornby 14XX model, but I do
When you walked past me and said hi, sorry I never recognised you at the time. Nice video
That's fine, did you get a nice view of 44871
Yes thanks, it put on a good show.
are they normallly only down south
Well they are currently running between Old Dalby, Bedford and St Pancras International but they should start to do some London to Nottingham/Sheffield next year
Excellent video. Nice one. Have a great weekend. 😀
Thanks, it was a fantastic day
Wow, a train running on tracks, thats novel
Amazing piece of British Engineering
HST with MK2 cars? Unusual
Indeed, it doesn't look quite right but it works
@samuelslocos with limited speed restrictions i think.
@@Great_WesternTVFan I thought that was the case, never seen go above 75mph
Are you sure the small looking coaches weren't HO? I recently picked up a HO Class 33 and coaches. They had the 'continental' couplings.
These were 00 gauge models, my friend has HO MK2s which are strangely smaller than these coaches
@samuelslocos Well HO is smaller than OO so it wouldn't be that strange.
@@ajivins1 When I did a review of another class 33 there was a significant size difference, if you find the video you will see what I mean
DCC doesn't just allow you to control the speed of your engines better, it also allows you to run model steamies and stinky diesels that are fitted with sound. So how about purchasing your very first DCC Sound-fitted engine and learning about the sound functions? Say for example you bought a new Dapol DCC Sound-fitted Manor engine. With the sounds turned on, you find yourself listening to the noise of a real Manor hard at work. Long sharp blast of the Swindon whistle, short sharp toot, coal-shovelling, hissing of steam as she takes off, sharp crisp bark as she gradually picks up speed and more besides. The DCC Sound-fitted model steamies are more expensive, but you get what you paid for.
Sounds like a good idea
Highly recommend dcc allows for so much more control
Indeed
They are a cheap but look good, Lima was a good brand!!
Lima rolling stock are definitely good models and cheap which are easy to get hold of, these MK2s are certainly worth the money
As long i don't like Halloween this is perfect
Thanks
@@samuelslocos no problem
Looks familiar!
