Hi I'm Roy and I love to cook! I hope you will take the journey with me. I have been cooking since the age of 5 and have a 30 year restaurant career with a variance from fast food to fine dining and high end catering. While my lifestyle is vegan, I have family members who are anything but. Join in and we will cook together and learn skills that are often missed in the culinary settings. I hope that you will like and subscribe and share these videos with anyone who has a passion for food and entertaining. Sometimes the best meals are those that require little effort but taste like a million bucks. We will learn how to use ingredients to create great meals and even have a laugh or two along the way!. Feel free to leave any comments or make recommendations for the types of video you want to see. I am happy to bring it to you.
Tame a hot pepper
Let's take the sting out of a hot pepper. Includes how to de-seed and dice a hot pepper. I encourage you to wear gloves or wash your hands thoroughly after handling a raw hot pepper. It can cause flushing on the skin and eye irritation.

Vegan or not this recipe is for you! If you just want something satisfying that feels like a good hug, try this comforting dish. There is a couple of steps involved but nothing difficult. You will need a heavy duty pot at least 6 quarts for the recipe here, but you can always make more or less. Place the pot on the stove over medium to medium low heat. Add 1/2 stick, (4 T) butter, (I used vegan...
Washed flour As seen on tik tok

Hello out there! Today we are making Seitan by washing flour. Once you master this technique, you will think twice about using the other vital product to make it. Start with 6 cups of flour, I used all purpose in the video but use any wheat flour you like. I find that the store brand works just as good as the pricier products. Add 2 tsp of table salt and stir to combine with a whisk. Add 2 cups...

Use a wooden spoon or whisk to combine well and remove...
Company Brussels Sprouts good enough for Cupid!

Brussels sprouts are a real treat when prepared correctly. Overcooking them makes them bitter while under cooking them can make them tough and chewy. Finding the happy medium can be a difficult task. I have experimented with different flavors and textures and this recipe includes one of my favorite flavor profiles, but feel free to make changes according to your tastes. These will be roasted so...

One objection is always put forward when I mention veganism to my friends and family; "Healthy food costs too much". Like anything else, we usually find a way to afford the things that are important to us, even food. One way to have healthy items handy is to purchase on sale and freeze any that won't be used right away. The grocery stores in my ares have a budget rack for produce, Most of the t...

Try this with any fruit or flavoring you like. In this case we made strawberry soft serve ice cream. The recipe is simple and very easy to make, you just need a blender, (high speed works best) some frozen sliced bananas, a little plant based milk, and what ever type of flavor you want. Fresh or frozen fruit works well to flavor the ice cream. In addition to strawberry I like to use blueberries...
How to make Garlic Paste

Make garlic more enjoyable using this method. Separate cloves of garlic from the garlic bulb. Use a French Chef Knife turned on its side to smash the garlic cloves. Once smashed, remove the peels from the cloves and if you wish, trim the root end off. Using extreme care, chop the garlic with the chef's knife. Thanks for this recipe! Just what I was looking for❤
Mason jar hack is a great idea ❤
Thanks for sharing this kitchen tips. Happy cooking and have a great day.
Yuk!
I absolutely love your videos!
I’m looking forward to making these! 💜
Can this burger be cooked in the oven instead of on the stovetop?
Can't wait to make these . They look absolutely delicious & healthy . And everything required I always have . Thank you so much !
Thank you for this lovely recipe!
You are absolutely welcomed! 🙂
May I suggest using a tablespoon of nutritional yeast to give it a more cheesy flavor?
Certainly. Nooch can sometimes be difficult to find so I didn't include it in the recipe. You can also add lactic acid or a tsp. of sourdough starter for that tart cheese taste. Thanks for the recommendation!
This looks delicious thank you ❤
Thank you!!!
These are called Fondant Potatoes in the UK 🇬🇧
I love them!! Not sure of the recipe origin, but so happy to have learned the technique years ago! Thanks for the wonderful contribution!
Looks good! Thanks for sharing
Look so great! I have a family history of Cancer and need to avoid the estrogen and BLV in dairy so this is perfect. Thanks for sharing
My pleasure!
❤❤ thanks for your recepices 🙏🤤🤤🙏
I love that your recipes use such simple ingredients to make something amazing!
Thank you Sarah! That's my goal, to make vegan simple and enjoyable!
The ingredients have been listed in the most despicable manner. Way too hard to read.
If you find veggies so wondrous , - why are you people always referencing/replicating 'steak' and 'burgers' and such ? Why don't you just actually go your own way ? Sorta' like a lesbian , constantly babblin' about a penile substitute.
Those look like rolled oats, steel cut oats need a lot more cooking time…
Looking tasty sauce ❤❤❤
Thank you!
I’m excited to try this! When I heard the carrots and potatoes I kinda cringed. The last recipe calling for them had tahini in it. Was nasty. I love love love green olives! Thanks Roy! Perfect timing for Mac n cheese! I’ll let you know how it goes.
Thanks! I think you will find this recipe simple and enjoyable! Please let me know your thoughts!!
Thank you! Can’t wait to try it!
It's my pleasure!
This would be great, with rice as a cabbage roll stuffing instead of traditional mince and rice.
Sorry, real meat is magnitudes better for my health than vegetables. It's called Salisbury Steak after the doctor who got people healthy on a diet of steak - James H. Salisbury - so I don't think yours is anywhere near healthy!
Depends on the meat. Even lions eat grass.
@@JisforJenius My cat eats grass to bring up hair balls, my dog eats grass because it copies my cat. Grass is not sustenance for non ruminant animals.
I get it. Vegan is not for every one. These options are for people like myself who have used plant based eating to lower risk of diabetes, high cholesterol, etc. I made these changes based on peer reviewed research and my blood work proves it works. That said, meat substitutes fill in those gaps when you just want a burger, etc. I don't want to force anyone to eat something they don't want. My goal is to share information with those who are looking for ways to fill in the gaps without placing their health at risk. Thanks for commenting.
Who's forcing you to watch this youtube channel? Move along, clearly there is nothing for you to see here.
@@miscelany2 UA-cam keeps recommending things like this for me. I don't put dislikes on many things and I don't want to either.
Yum
Thanks!
This looks so good! Thanks .
Hope you enjoy
Thank you so much for showing this!!! These look great and gluten + soy-free, for those worried about that. Wow!!
Thank you!
Thank you, looks so good and healthy, I know we will love them!
You are absolutely welcomed! I hope you like these as much as I do!
Well done!
Thanks!
Those wasnt steel cut oats...
Wanted to say thank you, had major brain fog and couldn’t remember the ratio to use for other pan breads and found this, much easier and very tasty!
So glad you liked it!
Looks great! Thank you
These are one of my favorites!
no =\
Thanks for the recipe. And the "trick" with the mason jar lid and the clear wrap is pure gold! AND the oil in the spray bottle. Nice!
Happy to share! Thanks for watching😀
Thank you so much for your time and video for the rest of us. Thank you even more for your service to our country. I am so ashamed of the people who gave you such rude comments, no good deed goes unpunished. Shame on them. The Oat Sausages are delicious!
Thanks for sharing! I'm glad you liked the recipe.
So easy!!! I’m trying this! Thank you!
Hope you like it!
Well crud! The most important and mystery item here is "Pork Sausage Seasoning". Yep, that makes it taste like sausage. But? No brand name, what? Update your recipe so we can see what this is. 10s of recipes like yours online, but no specific brands of what your "seasoning" is.
The seasoning I use is AC Leggs Old Plantation Seasoning for pork sausage. It's available at most grocery stores in the south for around $2.50 for an 8 ounce bag. It's available on Amazon for about $4 more. Sorry for leaving it out of the video. Thanks for asking!
@@cookinwivroy6932 Please edit your Description and put that in. :) Ok? Thank you.
Thank you, always enjoy your recipes and tips! Have you ever cooked with banana peel? I know it may sound yucky, but it’s not. It gives earthy flavor to vegan or vegetarian protein, not to mention all the wonderfully nutritious fiber. The peel gets too sweet and thin as it ripens so freeze your fruit early as possible, so that you can use the peel as well. Slice peel across the grain and cook with mushrooms or veggies you’re using. Slice peel against the grain, cook with mushrooms or other vegetables, chop up fairly fine in the food processor but not puréed. You will be surprised! I had heard of this now, and then through the years, but never appealed to me. Finally tried it and now wouldn’t think of tossing that precious peeling! Plus, makes your food dollar go a little farther. If you want to know, more, check out chef Jana on banana peel. 😊
Thanks for the tip! I have never thought of freezing them. I have used banana peels and spaghetti squash for smoked BBQ filling with good results. I use banana peels often in my garden to feed pepper and tomato plants. You get a larger harvest due to the potassium in the peel. I have also dehydrated them after soaking in soy sauce and maraschino cherry juice for beef jerky. It's a great snack! I also use peels often to make vinegar, (apple, banana, carrot/cucumber, and many others). Thanks again for sharing! I might consider doing some videos on using peelings. There are many good uses!
@@cookinwivroy6932 Great idea, I’ll look forward to it!
@@cookinwivroy6932 Soy sauce, and Marchino, cherry juice! I’ll try it in my vegetarian jerky next time! Who knew, the peeling is probably more nutritious than the banana inside!
This recipe looks really good and I plan to try it. A caution to those who try this recipe. These are not steel cut oats in this recipe. If you buy them in the grocery store, they are called old fashioned rolled oats. These two products cook very differently.
Wow this looks delicious! I diffinatly want to try your recipe. I do not use any oil in my diet. Do you think Iit would work to bake or air fry? Thank you for sharing! ❤
You can use either if you like. You can also use a ceramic non stick pan over medium-low heat. Let them brown on one side for about 15-20 minutes before you flip them. Finish them on the other side the same way. The oil is primarily to give that "burger juice" feel when you eat them. Hope you enjoy!
I want to see you eat it.
LOL r u trying to burn the house diwn OMG 🤪
Excellent 👌 , nice & mouthwatering recipe , looks so delicious 👍🏼,,,,
Thanks!
YUMMY 😋 🥰
I'd love to get a recipe for the Salisbury steak sauce!
I will have to do a video on sauces. In the meantime for a brown gravy, you can saute some mushrooms in vegan butter or water until they begin to brown, then add 1 tablespoon of liquid aminos or soy sauce. In a bowl combine 2 tablespoons of any flour and 1 tsp of cornstarch with 2 cups of water or plant based milk. Whisk together until no lumps, (or pour through a sieve) and stir into the mushrooms. Add 1 tsp of garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoned salt. Continue to stir and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add salt and pepper if desired. Makes a nice glossy brown gravy sauce that will go great with the burger mix. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@cookinwivroy6932 Great thanks! Yeah sauces can make or break some meals, especially when you have to cut out overt fats and oils.
amazing recipe, could I make these into meatballs? really enjoy your channel, tia
Certainly! You might want to hydrate some Textured Vegetable Protein and add for texture if making meatballs. Glad you enjoy the channel!!
It’s always hilarious to read vegan recipes that identify “meat” as a flavor or ingredient.
Thanks but your instructions are not very clear😵
If you have questions I will be happy to assist. Thanks for the feedback. I will try to do a better job explaining recipes in the future.
