I wish Patricia Janečková had recorded this. We do have a recording of her singing the other Villanelle (the one by Berlioz), but when I searched for other sopranos singing that aria, it showed me results for this one as well. She just was given a tragically short time, passing away at age 25 from breast cancer on October 1, 2023. As for you, I get the sense that the special songs you have recorded complete are special moments to you, as you have made it clear about your love for Eva dell’Acqua’s Villanelle.
