It’s a prototype aeroplane with an aircraft carrier horn, that never got its feet off the ground so they converted it into a train with southern forgetting to clean the air filter. 😅

@Whisper_Transport Nah don't worry about it. Tomorrow 5X81 should be an LNER azuma (possibly the same one you saw going back to the ECML). It departs Eastleigh at 09.47 and goes to Reading and then I think it goes to ferme park before going up to Doncaster IEP depot.

It’s the unit that’s rare, they only bring 2 car units down when no 3 cars are available which is not common.

What I know about the difference between the class 377 and 387 is different TPWS panel and operating systems, unfortunately I have no idea about the 379s
