❣💯 Good news on the unremarkable blood results from the lab. Sassy is elderly and pain, just like in humans, flares up. Thank you for your pain-management protocols that keep her interested in eating and going off to see her friends.

❣💯 Wonderful how you space the horses so they have separate bowls. You can see how much they appreciate the goodies. They eat with enjoyment and gusto. They are free. Wish I could grow a winter coat like your beautiful equines. Kudos to your animal sanctuary! My mom used to say all the time that we kids ate like horses; I realize now how much she enjoyed watching us scarf it down. She's gone now but I remember she'd wink when she said that. Then she'd keep piling our plates with more as we said, "Mom , you're a good cooker!" Your horses have such expressive eyes of their gratefulness. Keep warm, Spirit Keeper Equine Sanctuary!

❣💯 Spirit Keeper Animal Sanctuary: Thank you, Carol and Don, for that great photography from Moondust to Jasper. Equines love running along fences. Jenna, Jasper was so relaxed, he was licking and chewing at the stall while you brushed. If he could talk in words, he'd say, "Thank you, Jenna, for that relaxing grooming session and fly spray so they stop biting me." Glad they all have long tails to swat them away; maybe he wants to stay with his friends in the paddock, so sweet for herd animals who love to hang out together. Your horses are simply beautiful, their coats, their animated spirit, joy for life. Good job!!!!! The name of your sanctuary is so fitting. Makes my day!

Absolutely beautiful of the owners who have relinquished them to you to be donating to their keep, their treats and checking up on them. There ought to be more of it. I LOVE the Fjord. I have been lucky enough to have leased two fjord Geldings years ago and just love the breed to bits. Not for the faint-hearted because they are strong minded if they put their brains and necks to something lol, (yes, this grown adult leading another horse while riding one of the fjords along the highways edge, looked like a kid on a thelwell pony trying to pull his head up from the grass while kicking him and trying to get forward movement - mum drove past and didnt know whether to stop and offer her totally non-horsey help or keep going and pretend she didnt know what was going on.... she did the latter lol) think late 90s, I was in my late 20s, this fjord was a Riding For The Disabled pony mainly. Our area had able-bodied riders or very knowledgable folk lease the horses for 4 days a week, then RDA used them 3 days at their facility...because I had had my previous Fjord, and knew how they worked, I was 'put on the list' of people to lease a horse by the coach and asked if I would take this one on because there was no one on the waiting list for one who could deal with him. On the ground in the RDA arena - a total gem.. Out in harness, or trail rides, Pony Club or shows - a little toad because he didnt have a leader and sidewalkers. Plus I think it was a ploy by my parents, my feed store lady and the coach to get me out of my bedroom that I hadnt left for about 6 months after my doc wrote my resignation letter and i had a total mental meltdown... My body was failing big time too at that point physically with a lot of issues but we just didnt have lables for things. But anyhow - Fjords are wonderful - their nature is just gorgeous, I do love that cheekiness so much, I love trimming their manes as they are meant to be in shows and my OCD wont let anything but perfection there happen with them, and the best bit - their bums are bigger than mine! Just - but they are!!

Sassy Lady's lab work was unremarkable, results came back today. She is back to not eating, just picking at hay which is unusual because she normally eats mash. It is possible the pain medication the vet gave her yesterday made her feel well enough to eat and drink so we will repeat the pain management this evening and see if that helps her feel like eating. This is beautiful! Mina has so much trust in you and wanted to be involved in her training. I love the way this type of training is also used in getting snakes to “shift” from one place to another. It proves that this method works.
