I'm so glad it's helped. I hope you're doing ok. Getting burnout in the early stages makes it so much easier to manage, so hopefully you'll be able to make some changes now to protect yourself and kick start your recovery. Good luck.

Hello again i am a final year medical student You mentioned minor surgeries course !! Was wondering what surgeries GPs could perfrom? Could you kindly illlustrate more on this and perhaps give me some examples ! From what i know you could perform Tunnel releases and joint osteoarthritis or shoulder steroid imjections , perhaps blepharoplasty or hair transplantation in aesthetics by far. But is there anything more than this scope that a GP could perform in his surgery? Thanks Doc Sorry for taking a toll on your time reading this Also i am a huge fan of your youtube channel and performance overall in shaping your own career🤗👍 Keep up this great content!!!

how soon after qualifying can you do something like this? is it possible to do immediately after CCT or do you have to (or are recommended to) be a salaried GP first? Also is there anything you would recommend doing in preparation for a career like this in terms of experience or things for your CV or portfolio (I am a final year medical student) thank you! x

This is a really great question, thank you for asking. Some of the portfolio jobs I hold can only be done post CCT (such as out of hours GP or private GP work). Some, like my aesthetics job, can be done before CCT and immediately after qualifying. I spent my GP registrar year preparing for having a portfolio career and you can definitely start now in your final year of medical school. I thought about how I wanted to work and live my life in detail, I thought about what gave me joy, and worked back from there. Hope that helps x

For the private company 'Care Anywhere' if you're working from home, what if you need to examine someone? ie auscultate chest ? also if your meant to do a two hour shift but then it overruns and you end up working 2.5 hours, do you get paid for that? or just what you were scheduled to do ?
