I think pathable fortifications should be standard in any upcoming medieval RTS, it's really disappointing how poorly they designed walls and siege mechanics in AoE4
I agree and yeah, I found the walls and siege mechanics in AoE4 underwhelming too. Only redeeming feature is the sound of the trebuchets, they sound awesome!
I'm just finding out about this new game from you. Huge fan of Stronghold 1 and especially 2. Looking forward to the new one. Good video.

I follow every news about Stronghold Unreal and that's why I enjoy this video! I agree with everything you talk about. Now Stronghold Unreal has been in development for 3 years, I think we will see the release of this game in the fall of 2025. That's what I hope for. :)

I must have been 7 years old when I played this game against my dad. We each had an computer in a different room and had a lot of fun with this game as well as Red Alert and Empire Earth. One day i were playing AoE against my dad together with a friend. I do not remember how but someone at our school had told ous about this "baby cheat". So a few hours into the game against my dad we spawned the baby giggled like small children(which we were) while my dad yelled and sweared in the other room trying to fight of the baby, a unit he had never seen before. Eventually he did kill the baby although with the loss of his whole army as an result. It were at that point that me and my friend spawned 5 more babies. Seeing 5 more babies made my dad just quit the game and he didnt speak to me for the rest of the day. We played many more times in other games through my childhood, but he made sure to always put down one main rule: No cheating! Eventually I grew older and did not need to use cheats to easily beat my dad in any game. Its been at least 10 years since our last game. Seeing this video has made me think of maybe dusting of some computers and challenging him to a game of AoE. So thanks for the video. Lots of good memories.
